  • Great Sound, Great Product!
First of all I want to say that I initially received a defective system and was not able to use this for the first of two functions that I purchased these for. However, Theresa at Audiosavings jumped through hoops to expedite my return and ship me a new system and all within a week from California to New Jersey. I am very impressed with Audiosavings customer service and professionalism. Now as far as the system as a whole, Awesome! I am not a professional DJ or for that matter even an amateur but I am a lover of music and great sound. I purchased these speakers to use for an outdoor projector and big screen to watch the World Series on for our family. We followed that up with a movie night and a couple of weeks later to play music for a small party of friends. Overall, everyone including myself was very impressed. People, please keep in mind that these are not $2,000 speakers they are an affordable option for the novice and even professional person wanting great sound in a great package. They are passive directional speakers, so yes if you have them turned opposing each other you don't get to experience the full sound it projects. The bass is sufficient but I can see if you are doing larger parties or events that you could use an additional powered sub-woofer. I am actually looking at some through Audiosavings because they carry a good selection there. The Bluetooth feature works great as well as the direct line in. Haven't tried the SD card or flash drive yet but I don't normally use these options for playing music anyway. The set up for these speakers is very easy, the stands are also very easy to set up and quick to install and get your event going right away. The microphone worked great and there's even a additional input for another microphone. Overall, these speakers are very impressive and I would recommend these to anyone. ... show more

  • Super pleased customer!
What's up fellow shoppers, just want to start out by saying I do not,I repeat do not give. 5 star ratings on any product because then it goes to their head, but, when it comes to this Rockville system I must say, 5 stars is not enough. Ok let me explain, I ordered this system on May 30 which was a Saturday by the way at around 8:00 Pm online, I recieved an email with expected delivery date from June 4 thru June 9, well to my surprise I walked into my house on June 2nd at 2:00pm and ran into this nicely packaged box! 2 stars right there for that. Next I opened the box set everything up, plugged in the power, turned on my phones Bluetooth, and I kid you not people, within 8 and a half mins from opening the box to setting it up, I was listening to some crisp and clean music from these two firmly placed speakers on these two very durable stands that are included. 2 stars for that. The final star and 2 thumbs up way up, came when I had a question about the Bluetooth and EQ working together, which by the way they don't, and it's designed that way, the EQ only works with the SD card function or RCA output function, if you need to adjust treble or bass you can do so manually using the buttons on the back panel when using the Bluetooth function. Ok so I called up Audiosavings directly and had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Joe Molina, very nice, professional and super helpful. He took the time to call Rockville directly to get me the information provided above regarding the EQ functions, then he called me back within an hour to explain how all works to my satisfaction, then he proceeded to ensure me that if I still was not sure or not satisfied with the product they would exchange replace and or figure something, all the while I'm thinking wow all this for just a simple question! Awesome service! And that's where my 5 stars and 2 thumbs way up come from. The system itself is great sounding, compact and very easy to set up, couldn't be happier, great value for a really Kool system! Thanks guys keep up the good work! ... show more

  • Exceeded expecations
We bought this for our Wedding with low expectations, we just wanted something for background noise and ceremony. Once we set it up, which was easy, we we're able to play for hours to an outdoor venue of over 50 people. We've now had it for months and has been perfectly reliable after a handful of gatherings. From an audio standpoint, power-wise you are left assuming it's not that great on paper, but in person, the audio is plenty loud from 100 feet away, this keeping in mind that these are a PA system, requires the audience to be directly in front. The highs are plenty clear, mid are ok, but don't expect much from the lows, it's ok but nowhere near DJ levels, but we had that expectation going into these. There are built in presets for equalizer, though personally, we didn't find much difference in them. Lastly, the built-in microphone leaves a bit to be desired, we personally went with another wireless ones. Taking all considered, the clear audio, solid build quality, reliability, and price of about $300, I don't many speakers at that price can beat it. ... show more

  • A great value and performance at the price
This item is fairly simple to operate as a dual speaker PA system. There are 2 ‘“instrument/mic” inputs, a dual stereo Aux input and a Bluetooth/USB interface. The inputs each have gain controls and overall combined volume and tone controls. The Bluetooth/USB inputs feature some preset equalizations and there is also an included FM tuner. The main speaker has a built in 250w RMS amp which can also drive the included passive speaker via a 1/4” cable. It must be stated that this is NOT a true stereo system. It can take stereo inputs but then mixes them down to mono for an identical output from each speaker. First the disappointing issues. The Bluetooth input has mediocre performance with an iPhone or IPad having severe buffering issues and frequent drop outs. In my opinion totally useless. Also on start up one appears to have to choose between Bluetooth, USB or line inputs before use. The pre programmed EQ settings only work on the Bluetooth or USB inputs and have no effect on the wired inputs. So forget using the LCD display settings and buttons unless you are a glutton for punishment. Now for the good stuff. The 2 mic/instrument inputs and the AUX inputs work well which is what you really buy this for. The volume and tone controls work collectively on these combined. The sound quality is excellent and fairly flat between 100Hz and about 15KHz from my measurements (with tone controls set to minimum). Therefore adequate for a PA party audio system, singing (Karaoke) and guitar and keys inputs. You won’t get thundering bass below 100Hz without a sub woofer but then do you really need that. They advertise 116dB SPL max at @ 1m. So if the max SPL is at their 1000W peak then in reality at 250W RMS the output is only 110dB SPL from both speakers combined. So each speaker contributes 6dB for a true output of 103dB SPL from each speaker. That seems optimistic as the best speakers usually only manage 100dB SPL at 1m. Now the 250W RMS is probably into both speakers in parallel so each speaker only sees 125W RMS. That means that the volume from each speaker is equivalent to the volume from a 125W RMS guitar amp driving an efficient 12” speaker. With the two speakers combined they will be as loud as a 500W RMS amp driving a good efficient 12” speaker. That really isplenty loud for most medium sized venues. I use mine with only the powered speaker for keys and a modeling preamp for guitar in my band and it sounds awesome on stage. Very little distortion when cranked and crystal clear. If I want to bring the house down I’ll add the 2nd speaker. So in summary. Forget the Bluetooth and USB features, use cables and this is great value for the money. The performance is awesome when used in a live band environment. Stereo is unnecessary as only half the audience will hear each channel anyway except for the lucky few in the middle. Volume is great for small to medium club venues, sound quality is excellent and setup and installation is a breeze. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great for casual events
I bought these speakers for Argentine Tango events. The space where I host social dances is about 300 sq feet, and these speakers work very nicely. Good volume, and very good bass. Even when dealing with the sound quality of classic tango music from the 30s and 40s, I don't need a separate subwoofer. Setup was very easy. There's bluetooth capability, and you can connect devices via RCA cables or via 1/4 in jacks. Knobs in the back allow you to adjust Volume, Treble, and Bass. Keep in mind that only one speaker is powered while the other must be connected via a 1/4 in audio cable. This might be an issue for serious audiophiles, but for my needs it's not a problem at all. If you don't need a state-of-the-art system and just need a simple setup for casual social events (dance parties, house parties, etc) these speakers will do the job. I haven't tried out the microphone yet but I don't need one. Great quality and solid construction for the price. ... show more

  • Pay attention to all the 1 and 2 star reviews.
We purchased these speakers to host a once a month Karaoke/Dance party for our clients. The party is very casual, so we decided to save a little money and purchase these "highly rated" PA speakers over a pair of name brand/proven PA speakers. The package took nearly 2 weeks to arrive from Amazon; It was pretty beat up from the trip. Regardless, Rockville packaged the contents well enough so that there was no physical damage to the contents inside. Besides the interconnects, the speakers and microphone we're of decent construction. The speakers had some weight, the stands were nice and sturdy and the microphone was solid metal. I immediately hooked the speakers up and connect my phone to them via Bluetooth. It was super easy to setup without the instructions. From there, I turned the volume levels up and played some music from my Amazon Prime account. Instantly, I knew something was wrong. The satellite speaker emitted a "full range" of crappy sound while the amplified speaker was dead silent. I contacted Amazon regarding the defective speakers and they made arrangements for a refund (Kudos to Amazon for taking care of us!) Because of their size, Amazon suggested that we dispose of or donate the speakers instead of shipping them back. Curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to open up the speaker and see what was inside. Besides a crappy paper cone driver, and about 8 square inches of pollyfill, the internal components we're very underwhelming for any PA speakers. Let's just say there's absolutely no way this amplifier puts out 1000W of power. I have 6" computer speakers, rated at 100W, that have larger amplifiers. Regardless, I found the problem with my speaker and proceeded to fix it. One of the wires disconnected from the circuit board and was dangeling inside. It was an easy fix. After about 3 minutes of listening to the speakers, all I can say is "Ugh!". The sound quality from these speakers is painfully harsh and muddy. As others have mentioned, the speakers aren't even stereo. Furthermore, the satellite speaker is out of phase and sound horrible when it's paired with the main speaker. I decided to disconnect the satellite speaker and proceeded to "tune" the single speaker using my phone's software EQ. Unfortunately, the sound quality from the single speaker was just too poor to make it sound acceptable. A few moments later, the speaker suddenly shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I'm guessing the fuse blew (as others have complained about), but I just didn't care anymore. Instead of trying to salvage them, I delivered them to the nearest Goodwill and donated them. My advise, before you purchase these speakers based off of ratings, take a look at all the 2 and 1 star ratings first. There's a lot of truth in these reviews. I ended up replacing these speakers with Alto PA speakers from a local box store. They aren't the best, but the sound a lot better than the Rockville speakers from Amazon. ... show more

  • and like a teenager going on his first date
Got my speakers today, and like a teenager going on his first date, I was anxious ! I had read all the bad reports so I did not expect too much, saved the box just in case I had to return it. First I took everything out of the box carefully, removed the plastic wrappers, set up the speaker legs, put the speakers on top (it was heavier than I thought, but not unmanageable for one person to do, two would have made it easier). Tightened all knobs on speaker base and legs, connected the cable from main to satellite speaker, connected the power cord to main speaker and to the wall socket, turned system on, pressed mode (at back of main speaker) to Bluetooth, looked for new device on my iPhone, found it, looked for a song, pressed play, adjusted volume a bit and wham! Beautiful rich sound came out!, all my fear and trepidation about the other reviewers reports was in vain, it sounds awesome! Plenty of bass, looks of treble (I did order a subwoofer but it did not come at the same time) At very little volume it can be heard all over my house (a good above average size house with lots of insulation) Tried the microphone, true, the cable is somewhat short, but long enough for me, I was not looking to sit down on a sofa and use it, all in all, and I very pleased with what I got for just a bit over $200, how can any company build something this good for this price? Quality seems to be above average (I worked for Lexus for many years, I KNOW about quality!) Incredible sound for the money, I am very glad I bought it! Hope this helps someone make a decision. ... show more
