  • Great unit, lots of power! Wire BOTH power wires or it will not work!
Great head unit for the boat! It is easy to wire and use and really puts some power to the speakers without an amp even. Can’t go wrong with this head unit from what I have seen so far. The hole was needed to be enlarged for mounting compared to the clarion head unit it replaced. For all the 1-star reviews saying this unit doesn’t work... there are 2 power wires that you need to connect to power. The main red wire and the yellow memory wire. If you do not put power to the yellow memory wire, the unit will not power on. I’m very impressed with this head unit so far and it blows away the clarion I had in the boat previously. I don’t think I’ll even add an amp, it powers the kicker 8” speakers wonderfully! ... show more

  • Great price.
So far sounds good. Haven't got to play it much yet. But seems like a good one. I did have to reroute the ground wire. It was in the wrong place. But that was easy to do. Wish the remote was cordless. That would be better. Great radio for the price.

  • Incredible Stereo!
I have been installing stereos for 25+ years. I am also a big sound snob. This unit has everything you would want to install and connect to amps, bluetooth, usb you name it! And the sound is incredible! I was hoping it would fit in the same hole that my old stereo remote used, but it was too big. I just pulled out one of my many cup holders and sat it in there, it actually is a pretty perfect place for it. The only thing I am not a huge fan of is the remote for it has the LED's lit up all the time. So if your boat sits for a long time between uses, it could drain your battery. ... show more

  • What Warranty
I purchased two of these units. The good: Easy fit, easy BlueTooth connectivity and plenty loud (without an amplifier). The bad: oftentimes when I turn the unit on the volume reverts to the MAX setting. This MAX setting is not something that I configured -it's a glitch in my two units and if you look at other reviews you will discover this occurs in all of these units. This surge of MAX (volume) power will either blow your speakers or significantly shorten their lives. The REALLY BAD. One of my units just stopped working. It took over a week of back and forth emails to "AudioSavings" to determine how sure I was and if i wanted to go through with the warranty process. After I passed all of the tests I was finally given an Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Of course I had to return the unit at my own expense and exactly one week AFTER it was confirmed they received the unit I received an email stating they had received my unit and were processing my resolution. That was THREE MONTHS AGO. Nothing heard since. I have since purchased the JBL unit and I am so much happier. I suggest you avoid this unit. ... show more

  • Works great in my 2006 Sea Ray 240 Sundeck
Nice loud system with good bass (I like the +7 setting for bass). Don't need a subwoofer - could feel the bass through my legs on the front seats. Bluetooth worked fine with an Android Pixel 2 phone (I tested that I could walk 50 feet away and it still was working), and the USB worked fine with an old 8 GB FAT32 thumb drive that I had laying around. I had to enlarge the hole in the dash where the original Clarion stereo was - couldn't use a hole saw because a hole already existed (see pics). I just drilled dozens of small holes to enlarge the original hole. System didn't power on at first because I didn't connect the yellow wire to the accessory switch. I decided to connect the yellow accessory wire to the red wire so it is always powered on when the battery switch is turned on (this is fine because I always turn my battery off when not using the boat). I didn't want any issues so I ran 12 gauge duplex tinned marine wire from a fused battery circuit to the Rockville receiver - dedicated circuit. (see pic) Also, I ran 14 gauge duplex tinned marine wire to all speakers. The 13 year old speakers work just fine - can't find anything wrong with them so I won't replace them. Went out on the lake a couple of days ago and floated in the middle while cleaning the interior. Ran the system for an hour. No problems so far. Cranked it up to top volume of 40 briefly just to test it, but mostly while stopped I had the volume between 10 and 20. ... show more

  • A little disappointed
Ordered this receiver from amazon and got a pair of Rockville speakers to go with it direct from Rockville for a Can Am UTV. I specifically got this unit because its listed RMS wattage is higher than most similar units from other manufactures, was trying to keep from having to install a separate amp. The 6.5" speakers were rated much higher than the wattage of the receiver, but the sound quality is not good at higher volumes, lots of distortion. Volume level goes to 40 but sound quality starts degrading above volume level above about 25 or so. When operating a UTV that is not loud enough when driving, except at very slow speeds or when motor is off. Bluetooth controls a little bit quirky as well and the display on the unit does not show any track info when using Bluetooth. Did not use the remote, so can't speak to its functionality. Had high hopes for this unit but somewhat disappointed. Fit was a little tight as well, it was a little bigger than I anticipated, but that's my fault for not looking and the exterior dimensions close enough as compared to the mounting hole cut out size. ... show more
