These are a very good set of subwoofers to fill im the lower frequencies of a small P.A. system. I am driving it with an older Crown XLS 402d. In stereo mode the Crown is putting out 300 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms. My signal input to the Crown is from the line out RCA connectors of Phonics Powerpod 410 amplifier/mixer. I have installed a low-pass filter to the Crown input. I selected 150hz. So the Rockvilles only get 150 and below. Turn the source up to 7/8th of full, set the input gain on the Phonics 410 about 1/2 to 3/4 and then adjust the master out on the Phonic 410 and the gain on the Crown. I can make things on the shelves in the house vibrate with these Rockvilles! Concert hall- no. Parties, bars, churches etc.- heck yes! My Phonic speakers are model S710. So 10 inch full range speakers. The 12 inch subwoofers are a perfect match. I am going to install a high-pass filter in the rear effects plug of the Phonic 410. Think I will use 140 hz. This will off-load the low frequencies from the main speakers. This can be done easily because the effects plug is after the main volume control. The RCA line out is BEFORE THE main volume control. I am dropping a star down to 4 because of the packaging. Thin cardboard and no corner padding. Also no padding around the rear input panel. Binding posts stick out and took a flat hit. Bent the panel in a bit. But, the speakers took it and play great. I AM HERE TO TELL YOU FOR THE PRICE THESE ARE A FANTASTIC ADD IN SUBWOOFER!!

Use it for rehearsal at lower volume along with a set of dual 15s. But is absolutely perfect for home theater. Lots of bass response

I purchased these speakers after I read the specifications online for a future pa amplified mixer and the specifications that were listed showed that they had a very low bass frequency response and due to very limited financial resources it would take me a long time to be able to afford a powered mixer so in the meantime I tried to use them in conjunction with my home theater system and they didn’t seem to have the low bass sound as the specifications that were listed so then I decided to try to hook them up to a lead wire that I connected from the back of my Orange Crush 20rt guitar amplifier along with 2 mini bookshelf Boss MR4-3B Speakers and they sounded okay but then I turned the Rockville Speakers upside down with the Boss mini speakers on top and now they have the best sound that I have ever heard in my life when I play guitar. Now I would give them 10 stars if I could. Awesome !

It would be tough to give these speakers the highest rating if I had not tried to push them without the power amp. The power amp will allow these speakers to work as intended.
