  • What a gem at an amazing price
My old Peavy mixer amp died, and, given the amazing price and good reviews, it seemed worth giving the Rockville product a try. I am beyond pleased. It does more than my old Peavy mixer amp did and is just right for a small band. I didn't realize that an MP3 player was included. The player is excellent, with easy controls. The unit is light and easy to handle. Just finished our first small performance and it was a breeze. The audience seemed to like the sound too! ... show more

  • Hevvy Build and good clean tone......
This unit performed flawlessly for our first gig and worked very well in the weeks ahead while we used it in the practice room testing it out. The features for the money are very hard to beat and the build quality is impressive in it's weight and composition. The knobs are not overly large or bullet proof but they are solid and smooth operating with very small adjustments yielding noticeable change in tone and volume, etc. The connections for the speaker output, mic in and signal in are just as well made. There are some features on the unit that we are not in need of such as the MP3 and some of the effects so I can't speak much to those. Overall this is a clean, loud and well built PA head that for the money is just the ticket. ... show more

  • Nice product for the price. ( Received 7/14/2020 ) Nice product for the price. ( Received 7/14/2020 )
First thing I did was check out the usb feature of this head. It worked well. Simple to manipulate. The second thing was to run a Line 6 head through it with a stereo direct out split into two channels on the Rockville RPM45. That worked well. Reproduced the sound from the direct out of the amp nicely. Of course I had to play with the settings of the individual channels I was using, but still sounded better than I expected. I haven't tried a instrument direct yet. Eager to find out what my classical electric will sound like through it. Though this is not a complete review of its capabilities but, I'm satisfied with the product. It's non-complicated, easily portable, affordable and has some power. What more could you want. ... show more

  • Worked Awesome for 5 piece small band...
Worked Awesome for 5 piece small band... Very powerfull little amp. We plugged in an 8 channel mixer and was able to handle 5 instruments and 3 singers no problem. First use out of the box it was on medium volume (as load as we all could deal with in the space we were in) for 6 hours of practice and did not even get warm to the touch...Not sure how it's longevity will be but I think as long as we don't over tax it, it should last for a good long time (I hope) we shall see... It seems very rugged and the material it's covered with seems thick and looks as though it could take a beating and keep on going but again that probably will have more to do with how it's taken care of. All in all I would recommend this for an inexpensive alternative for a small get together or small band situation... Cheers All... ... show more

  • Good value and works
This pa is perfect for our four piece rock/metal band. We run two mics through old peavey speakers and it is plenty loud enough. Also what’s nice is line in plays songs for us to listen to. Couldn’t figure out Bluetooth, but I’m ok with line in to play music. Worth the money. I do have master and mics up about 3/4 of the way but we are loud have 100/120 watt bass and guitar amps and vocals can be heard well over guitar, bass, and a drummer who hits them hard! ... show more

  • 1800 watts? i dont think so
I was looking for a little stereo rig to play my drums to, so it had to be fairly loud. I got one of those mini amps that claimed to put out 120 watts, but sounded more like 40 watts max. The thing was so small and light that the weight of a cord could drag it off the table. It was just under $60 so i decided to upgrade a bit. I saw this unit for only $50 more, with astronomical power ratings, so i went for it. About the power output, it is ridiculously exaggerated. A 2400 watt amp would be way bigger just to accomodate the transformers and would need some serious fans to dissipate heat. This amp is not close to that wattage. Even by their own figures it pushes 225 watts RMS per channel. That is still substantial. They multiply that 225 watts x 4 channels and claim 900 watts. Sorry, 225 watts per channel is still 225 watts. Going a step farther., they double the supposed 900 watts RMS to arrive at a peak wattage of 1800 amps. Peak wattage is then given as rms, which is baloney. Peak wattage is not a real thing and not worth mentioning. Even if those figures panned out it would still be less that the 2400 watts they claim, so I dont know where that figure comes from. This little amp is loud but nothing like a 225 watt amp should be. I have played in bands all my life and have owned and played on many different amps, and I can tell you that any 100 watt guitar amp is twice as loud as this thing. This amp would be hard pressed to cut through the noise at a busy club. If you turn the master volume past about 3/4 full it distorts pretty bad (which is true of about any solid state amp), so the effective range of use is comparable to about a 50 watt amp. The cabinet is sturdy and looks nice, but the tiny knobs are a big drawback. At least the master knob should be bigger than the other knobs. Plus all of the knobs are identical and the labels so tiny you cant see them. Look at the panel labeling on quality amps. It is concise and legible, not so on this unit. The tone controls dont have much range, but work to trim the highs and lows. Im running it through a roland 200 watt 4x12 cabinet and the sound is ok but a little muddy. The aux channel functions at a much lower volume than the main channels, but i have used the aux output along with a 15 watt pre amp to power a small monitor. But I dont mean to be over critical, because its a great amp for the money. Just dont expect anything close to the wattage ratings given and beware that adjusting it while playing is difficult unless you have the knob locations memorized ... show more
