The media could not be loaded. The Rocksocki Tabletop Drum Pads Kit is a good choice for you and/or your kids because the pads have a solid feel and good stick bounce. The size of unit is just right, it does not take up much space. The Rocksocki comes with an owners manual, pair of drum sticks and two foot pedals for Kick and Hi-Hat. The sensitivity of the pads and pedals is good and the Menu, Tempo, Click, Record and Demo Song options offer a good set of features needed to practice drumming with. The drum kit sounds are decent with a choice of 15 kits to choose from. You also get 50 Demo songs to practice with but you can not change the tempo of the songs. You can also record your drum playing with the built in record feature but you can not save it and if you press the Record button again the previous song is erased and the new recording replaces it (see video). The Rocksocki Drum Pads come with a USB-C cable for connecting to the power input port on the “Right” side of the front panel, but does not have a 5-Volt power supply to go with it. So you will need to use a 5-Volt USB adapter to power the drum pads. Also be aware that the supplied USB-C cable will not work as a USB-C Data cable to connect to your computer. You will need to use a USB-C data cable to plug into the “Left” side USB-C port on the front of the drum pad unit (I show you in the video). The Rocksocki works as a basic MIDI drum controller as well but it needs a few “Firmware” changes to make it work better. But the Rocksocki Drum Pads is still a good unit for you and or your kids. 4 Stars. Please see video. I indexed it for easier searching. Thank you for watching. Fix: Pad Volume control to work with all pads correctly (see video). Remove: If memory space is not available - Trigger Threshold - Crosstalk Threshold - Repeat Triggering - Force Curve The defaults for above settings works good. - Drum Sequence Replace with or Add: - Local Control: On and Off (see DAW section of video). - Pad Sound Assignment: Assign sound to any pad including Foot Pedal inputs. - MIDI Note Assignment: Assign a midi note number to any pad including Foot Pedal inputs. - Pan Control: Assign panning control to all pads including Foot Pedal inputs. - Memory to retain at least one or more custom pad setups.

I bought this for my grandson that loves playing music. Gave him the gift yesterday and he loved it! Best part, the parents were concerned about him driving them crazy with the noise but the headphones took care of this! They told me he is enjoying it and they have some free time where they know he is entertain doing something that will help him build his musical talent. Simple and easy to set up!

In Play-Along mode, you can't adjust the Tempo (which is silly, especially if it's designed for beginners). As an instrument, it's absolutely awful and I wouldn't recommend it. Sounds are cheesy - even when connected to good amp/spkrs, or when played through professional Denon headphones. Biggest Operational Problems: 1. Pads are pre-assigned to drum sounds and layouts (not customizable); 2. Pad Sensitivity is wildly inconsistent. Some hits go undetected. Also, hitting one pad sometimes triggers the sound assigned to the neighboring pad. 4. Built-in Speakers are abysmal. Headphones or external amp/spkrs are essential - and even then, it's not that good. Bottom line... it's too pricey, given its toy-like performance and quality, its limited User-control, and its unfriendly Play-along mode.

This thing is great for beginners or others just wanting a quick pad space. For the price, it’s very responsive and even has midi capabilities. My only real complaint is the sound set could have more variation. The pots are not in the best place to avoid over aggressive teenage boys hitting them and, let’s face it: that’s the target audience here. I’m very happy with the unit, though and my son loves it. .
