    • Good alternative to Timberland
I have been look for a simple design light weight casual waterproof chukka boots like this for a long time. Light brown/honey color leather on top, dark brown sole below with no ugly white rubber in between or at the lower sole like most other boots these days. And since brands like Timberland or Catapillar no longer provide simple design boots like this one, I am very happy when I found this model from Rockport. This model is very comfortable as the insole are quite soft. I can stand or walk on these for many hours before my feet start feeling tired. The outsole provide very good grip on wet surfaces even on black ice. Waterproofing works well so far. The toe box is rather narrow so if you have wide feet like me, order one size up. I wear size 8 wide on Catapillar boots but have to get size 9 for this pair. The only complaint I have would be the front design of the boots are more sharpish shaped towards more fashionable look than more roundish shaped like your typical Catapillar/Timberland/Wolverine work boots. Feel more like a semi-casual dress up boots than functional work boots type. This can be a con or pro depends on what you need.
