  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Finally happy with customer service
bought this to charge my Rockpal 300 watt power station but the power station stopped working after 2.5 years. Trying to contact Rockpal for replacement or repair..First, Crystal one of the customer service representatives turned down the request but then later on Vivian offered me another 300watt Rockpal station for replacement and had it shipped right away. Now I can use my solar panels again to charge my new 300 watt station. Thank you Vivian for an awesome service! ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Money well spent
I bought this to replace 2 goal zero 20 watt panels that both mysteriously stopped working within about a month of each other. I had them chained along with a nomad 13 and 7 for a supposed output of 60 watts, though I think 33 watts was my highest output from them according to the guage on my yeti 400. Possibly line droppage had something to do with the lower numbers since there was about 6' of cabling between each set of panels. I've had these panels for about 2 1/2 weeks now and am really pleased. My highest output from them has been 43 watts so far. I get a steady 12(ish) watts during overcast weather, whereas the gz 60 watt combination would get maybe 5. Pretty much the same results for both when laid across my dashboard. I don't know the full potential of these panels since my batteries have been maintained at 80% charge or above since I received them. The first day I used them it was a bit overcast so I was never able to see their full output on a battery below 40%. Thats low enough that the charge controller on the Yeti 400 would basically allow as much incoming wattage as it was receiving. That first day brought me up over 80Ωͺ and it hasn't been much lower since then. These panels have zero problem keeping my yeti(s)150 and 400 fully topped off. They seem sturdy and so they are a bit heavy. Probably not the best choice for things like backpacking or hiking but a definite "should have" for your vehicle in case you get stuck somewhere. Charging a phone or tablet, even in moderately cloudy conditions, would be no problem at all. I would recommend to the manufacturer that they include a few grommets or other types of attachment points along the sides. I use these in my van, which has a small rain gutter running around the perimeter of the roof. That rain gutter is a perfect spot to hang solar panels from, via carabiners, during fall through winter months when the sun stays low over the horizon even at midday. I would definitely recommend these thus far. Edit/addition: So, it's rare that I'm so happy with a product that I add to my initial review. That said, I've had these panels for 5 or 6 weeks now and I'm probably happier now than when I posted my initial view. I could probably add another large battery into the mix and still end up with them all fully charged a vast majority of the time. These panels blow my old goal zero panels out of the water for much less money! I haven't rain tested them yet (and probably won't) but even through gloomy Seattle weather they collect a respectable amount of power. I also have not tried to see if I could pull in more than the 43-44 watt peak I saw after I first received them, simply because the batteries they are charging have not gotten low enough to ever allow that much incoming power. The only 2 cons I see so far are that: 1) the covering is "frosted" which means you need to keep them clean. The wind won't blow the settled dust off of them, you will need to wipe them down between uses for maximum efficiency. I have no problems with that so it's more of an observation than an actual con. 2) The adapter for gz batteries is a little on the loose side but it seems to work well enough that, again, it's more of an observation than a drawback. If you need a small(ish) set of panels these are great! ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars I can't get 100 W out of it
I want to like this panel because it has amazing coating, I bought it on sale, and I don't want to look for another panel to waste time, but I can't get 100W, or even 85W out of it. The most I got is 65W. I will update if I get more success.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars 20%-(rare)50%
Bought these last Nov, used them in my window. Never got one watt out of them vs the two watts out of my older panels. Started using them out side on my balcony this march. I have yet to get above 50% (30watts) most of the time its between 10%(6watts) -20%, sometimes 30%. One cloud between the panels and the sun = 4 or 5%. I need to up grade my Generator, so I plan to buy two more sets and do a test for durabilty(1 year at least). ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Performed as advertised
Caveat: This is the first solar panel I've used so I have nothing else to compare it to. However, I was quite pleased when it fully charged my Anker Powercore 10,000mAh battery in about 4 hrs. Weather conditions were 100% sunny in late October in central Ohio so the sun was quite low. We were camping but there was a clearing next to our site. I was able to prop it against a tree so that it faced the sun as directly as I could make it. I came back after a four hour hike to find the battery fully charged. My next test will be to lay it out on the roof outside our south facing window during a partly cloudy day. I will update this review then. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful portable solar panel
Bought this to charge a portable power bank. It was on sale and a super value. I was impressed by the quality of the solar panel and it's portability. It comes with a variety of adapters for other power banks to charge and also has two usb charging ports. Took it camping and it kept my devices charged. Highly recommend this 60 watt solar panel. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars No kick stand and bad smell
Well, it works, I was able to get as much as 44w out of it mid-day, but I can't believe it doesn't have kick stands like most other similar panels so they can be angled towards the sun better. There is also a very toxic smelling smell coming off of them, hopefully that will go away after a few days. I must say they actually fit perfectly on my dash in the car, and were able to pull 17w through the windshield glass, so can even be used while driving to charge some stuff, although not really necessary as the car can do that just fine too. They are much smaller than I was expecting, fairly easy to carry. I wish they were the same width but taller and had a kick stand, that would be perfect for me. Also no USB-C, some other similar ones have USB-C, but if you're using a portable power station with it, then it doesn't matter as the station would have it. ... show more
