This cat house is awesome! So sturdy and beautiful. Took me about 30mins to build. Simple instructions and easy to assemble. All you need are a few tools. I used a hammer for the latch on the roof, but other than that, easy peasy! Highly recommend even if you aren’t handy, you can do it! It’s bigger than I thought. My outdoor cat is quite big, but he has tons of room to stretch out. Oh and it’s waterproof too! The value is priceless, keeping our strays comfy through all seasons.

this is a nice size for one average size cat. the top can be removed for easy cleaning. it snowed here and then inside stayed dry. I had to add some styrofoam to the inside around then corners. there were large gaps where the sides are put together so the cold air will get in. later I will put some foam to insulate those areas for now the styrofoam and plastic liners will do. also the holes were not lined up and deep enough to just twist the screws in for the top panel and the hinge. I had to use a drill to put in those screws. other than that it was pretty simple to put together. I haven't seen my feral get inside of it. so I don't know if they have used it or not. time will tell. but I can say it stayed dry. after the 5 inches of snow we received here none got into the house. there was a smell but it faded after a while when I was putting the house together. the roof is sturdy one cat was sitting on top of it when the snow melted off.

Well made pet house. Purrfect for that special kitty. Nicely insulated, the top/roof has a covering like an actual roof protected from the wind, rain an even harsh sun. It does have a height adjustment so it is not completely on the ground. It was very east to assemble took me about 20 minutes. Very durable during the rainy season, I place a kitty bed inside and it fit perfectly. I don't have any cats. However there are a few wandering kitties and I do see them utilize the kitty home when the weather is challenging. Makes me happy to see them use it.

We bought this for a few barn cats outside that I have a soft spot for. For the price, the materials are solid. It's got an actual asphalt roof, good solid trim, decent thickness wood pieces and a few vinyl strips on the front door to keep it warm. Took a day or so but the cats love it, and the included ramp is pretty neat. I keep an old blanket inside of it which is easily swapped out due to the lid having a sturdy hinge that opens the whole roof for cleaning. There were zero chemical smells (honestly it smells like red cedar) and took about 5-10 minutes to build with a Phillips screwdriver. I'd absolutely recommend it!

If the price of lumber wasn't so astronomically high in my area, I would have just made a wooden shelter myself. This thing has a lot of problems. Split boards, missing hardware, floor is 1-1/2" - 2" too short so now you need to fill a big gap. Rooftop is misaligned, roof hinges are a nightmare and finally..... why spray the shelter with this fake cedar perfume? I don't like writing these reviews but I don't want someone else to spend their money, especially in these times with inflation, on a shelter like this. With cold weather approaching and new animals on the property I wanted a few more shelters before the cold got here. The wood is ultra light and has split boards in the areas where the factory drilled holes or used screws. Pre drilled holes are not lining up properly and takes some effort to drop the bolts into place. The floor comes as a one piece part but it also has a massive gap once its in place. This definitely needs to be filled in with some foam insulation or towels. The rooftop is my biggest complaint overall. There is a area that was pre-notched out by the factory for the hinges but it was notched on the wrong side. This created two big issues. One being that it requires you to add spacers underneath it so the roof hinges properly. Two being, If you use the hinges as is, and in the designated notched area, it shifts your roof forward so much, that rain gets inside. (why not just draw some lines where the hinge should sit as a guide like was done with the metal roof prop?) Maybe this sounds a bit like "nit picking" but I feel that if you spend this kind of money on something it shouldn't have this many quality control issues. Now I need to travel to a home improvement center to buy more items. Other wise this thing will rot away in no time with all the rain we get. Why can I smell the cedar perfume through the shipping box? I know this isn't cedar wood because the wood characteristics are not right. Cedar also doesn't have layers to the scent, this smells mostly of cedar but with a hint of musk which makes me think this is a perfume of some sort or a chemical made to smell like cedar. its overpowering and will need to air out for a few days before the animals will even come close to it. Maybe I got a lemon, who knows, but I'll go back to the company I used previously. They also had some issues but nothing like this. I would have never allowed this to ship out to a customer the way this was.

My outdoor 12 year cat loved this! She had other houses to alway stay warm but with this one I also bought a little pad that fits in there nicely and warms to her body heat! 😢 unfortunately she only got to use one winter she passed away!
