I have the 9.8 ft rocket propellor version and I love it I’ve only used it in lakes and rivers and have gone 15 miles in a day no problem max speed with no current if your pushing hard is about 5ish mph It’s a great fishing rig The propellor does catch on weeds really easily but you can back pedal a few times and usually you can clear it I have had problems with screws coming loose, my propellor came of when I was about a mile away from the boat ramp so always keep paddles with you, I reached out to the company and they sent a free replacement then I used locktite when installing it so hopefully that won’t be an issue in the future When I first got the kayak the propeller drive didn’t fit in the slot and I had to file down one of the locks to make it fit, also the prop locks don’t hold it down perfectly so there’s a little bit of wiggle Overall Its treated me great I’ve probably gone 200+ miles on it and have caught its weight in fish-it’s been a game changer being able to fit a 10ft kayak that I can stand up on inside my car is amazing and I’ve never worried about it coming apart it feels very secure It’s my first pedal drive kayak so I have nothing to compare it to but it’s been a game changer for my fishing Quality 7/10 Customer service 10/10 Fun 10/10

Purchased in April 2025. Since I purchased I have been fishing around 3 days a week and it is now August. I don't have one complaint. Very sturdy you want even know it's a two piece. Well built. A tank. The built in tackle box is excellent. You will not need to modify because this kayak is well thought out for fishing or pleasure. No hanging out of the back of the pickup or SUV. There is some assembly but wasn't a problem. Good instructions. Would I purchase again. Sure would.

Why did it take so long for someone to invent the modular kayak? I will never go back to a 1-piece yak. So much easier to load/unload two pieces from the back of my SUV. 35" beam makes it very stable...easy to stand up if your balance is good. Given the wide width and short length, it is not fast or track dead straight (as expected). Lots of useful features for fisherman. Two minor shortcomings: The supplied 220cm paddle is too short for the kayak's width. Most paddlers will need a 250-260cm paddle. I paddle to fishing spots then use the fin drive when fishing. Lock washers should be included to secure wing nuts to rudder cables. Wing nut came loose and fell overboard on second trip, rendering the rudder useless. Easy fix with trip to hardware store. Fully assembled, the yak weighs close to 100 pounds. You will want a scupper hole kayak dolly to wheel it from your vehicle to the water. Handles on both ends and sides makes this a snap. Yeah...1-piece yaks cost less. For me, the convenience and ease of storing and transporting a modular yak is worth the investment.

I got this reel yak rocket 10ft modular kayak on 2/17/2025. 1. This is likely made of LLDPE instead of HDPE. Because the hull is easily scratched with fingernail. FWIW LLDPE is more susceptible to UV damage. 2. The propeller drive unit and the cover don't fit in the hole and has to be modified. 3. Floor doesn't stick well to the boat and is spongy. 4. This is likely not rotomolded because there are seams present. Although roto molding can also have seam like appearance, I can see abrupt color changes on seams so they should be real seams. Now sure how strong those seams are. You get what you pay for. The price is a fraction of what other name brands are calling for and is modular, if roof carrying is a concern for you. Lastly, similar items sell for roughly $800 on Alibaba including shipping and takes 2 months to ship. Just in case you are interested. I probably should've buy there since it's winter now anyways. But returning such big item is a headache so I'm stuck with it.

The item arrived defective the pedal on the prop drive fall off because the threads on the arms are stripped. After several contacts with reel yaks the issue remains unresolved so it has been a very disappointing experience.

I really like it. There are a few things could be improved like the rudder control possibly being damaged because it sits higher than the side and the rudder itself could be bigger. Very stable, tons of room, comfortable seat and the riser is awesome. Check ALL of the fasteners, half of mine were loose. Also the pedal drive was not properly adjusted. Otherwise a great price for a good kayak.
