  • The 5 latches hold the two sections solid
Style: Fin Drive
The kayak locks together with 3 latches on the bottom and two on the top. There is no leaking at the connection between the two sections. It comes with the seat risers so don't buy them. It is stable to sit in but I don't feel confident to try standing. The pedal fin system works well. Water is not a problem in the area where the paddles assembly drops into the bottom of the kayak. Bringing up the rudder with the provided small rope pulley system is very difficult. The seat is perfect. The straps that hold the back of the chair in place do not interfere with my arms. I"m 68 in half decent shape, but I can move the kayak along just fine with the pedals. I don't have a problem with keeping the kayak away from the shore. I can turn the rudder full in the direction away from the shore or obstacle and it will drift away from the obstacle. The couple of times I got stuck on a log I pulled up the rudder (difficult), pulled up the pedals (easy), and pushed off with the paddle. I bought the 7" hummingbird fish finder but I think the 5" would have served better for the space and track available. I tried mounting the transponder in the space designed for it, underneath, with screws but they would not hold. The transponder did not fit the width for the built-in threads. I finally modified the included transponder mount by drilling a new hole close to the edge of the mount. Then I used the bolt and built-in threaded input, which worked. I'm not sure how you could go wrong with this fishing kayak. ... show more

  • Nice
Style: Fin Drive
I really like it. There are a few things could be improved like the rudder control possibly being damaged because it sits higher than the side and the rudder itself could be bigger. Very stable, tons of room, comfortable seat and the riser is awesome. Check ALL of the fasteners, half of mine were loose. Also the pedal drive was not properly adjusted. Otherwise a great price for a good kayak. ... show more

  • Ultimate in Yak Portability
Style: Fin Drive
Why did it take so long for someone to invent the modular kayak? I will never go back to a 1-piece yak. So much easier to load/unload two pieces from the back of my SUV. 35" beam makes it very stable...easy to stand up if your balance is good. Given the wide width and short length, it is not fast or track dead straight (as expected). Lots of useful features for fisherman. Two minor shortcomings: The supplied 220cm paddle is too short for the kayak's width. Most paddlers will need a 250-260cm paddle. I paddle to fishing spots then use the fin drive when fishing. Lock washers should be included to secure wing nuts to rudder cables. Wing nut came loose and fell overboard on second trip, rendering the rudder useless. Easy fix with trip to hardware store. Fully assembled, the yak weighs close to 100 pounds. You will want a scupper hole kayak dolly to wheel it from your vehicle to the water. Handles on both ends and sides makes this a snap. Yeah...1-piece yaks cost less. For me, the convenience and ease of storing and transporting a modular yak is worth the investment. ... show more

  • Ok with some DIY needed
I got this reel yak rocket 10ft modular kayak on 2/17/2025. 1. This is likely made of LLDPE instead of HDPE. Because the hull is easily scratched with fingernail. FWIW LLDPE is more susceptible to UV damage. 2. The propeller drive unit and the cover don't fit in the hole and has to be modified. 3. Floor doesn't stick well to the boat and is spongy. 4. This is likely not rotomolded because there are seams present. Although roto molding can also have seam like appearance, I can see abrupt color changes on seams so they should be real seams. Now sure how strong those seams are. You get what you pay for. The price is a fraction of what other name brands are calling for and is modular, if roof carrying is a concern for you. Lastly, similar items sell for roughly $800 on Alibaba including shipping and takes 2 months to ship. Just in case you are interested. I probably should've buy there since it's winter now anyways. But returning such big item is a headache so I'm stuck with it. ... show more

  • Defective parts
The item arrived defective the pedal on the prop drive fall off because the threads on the arms are stripped. After several contacts with reel yaks the issue remains unresolved so it has been a very disappointing experience.

  • Customer service is none responsivr
Style: Fin Drive

  • BEST $ spent - so well made/design so well thought out!
Style: Fin Drive
OMG - Money most well spent! A PERFECT kayak for exercise, hands free operation (if you choose), wide and stable (I take my dog out on it all the time - fits in the front or back and he's 55#. I bought the modular as I travel with my camper and regular kayaks are too long to fit in the bed of the truck or underneath the camper this is PERFECT - well made, all components so well thought out and such great exercise - I could not be happier and I try to use it every day - TY! ... show more

  • Good fishing kayak
Purchased from vendor website in ocean blue with prop drive system, with additional tandem seat. I like the kayak. I have been fishing once with it. I intend to add some keel tape on the bottom and take it out again on the water within 3 weeks. I bought a modular kayak so that for the 1-person mode; 2-piece, trip to the lake .... I can fit it into my Hyundai Elantra GT 2020. My parents aren't fans of roof racks. ... show more
