This is a great kit, I have gotten ROBOTIME kits before, but they have made some changes/improvements since my last kit. Let's start with what you'll need, scissors, craft knife, and a pen according to the instruction book. You may also want to include glue (there is double sided tape included, so it depends on how you feel about that) and a small paintbrush to apply the glue. From there it's personal preference, maybe you want to paint something a different color, change the shape or look of something, and those would all be supplies you may need to provide yourself. Otherwise, this is a pretty thorough kit, everything is packaged in labeled bags or packages, all the pieces that can be labeled are, but there is also an included sheet that shows each piece and their assigned number/code. All wooden pieces can easily be sanded smooth once punched out of their forms, you may want some different grits available just in case though. Assembly is easy and can be accomplished with the double sided tape, but I like glue, so I used that on most of my kit. All the smaller odds and ends are clearly printed with bright colors to look realistic. The instructions for assembly are also clearly laid out and easy to follow. It does take some time, I've been working on it for about two days, a couple hours at a time. I could finish it in a weekend, but I don't work on these for speed, just to amuse myself. I'm the "up" age, but I may have bitten off more than I can chew. Ok, this is a great set. You need to be careful with the wood pieces-they're lightweight and fragile. This kit is pretty detailed, the instructions are good, I'm just a little slower at assembling because of dexterity and eyesite. This is a fun kit, that is adorable, and will look great on display. I think this is very giftable for the crafter in your life. This was my first time building something like this so I was so happy to see how beginner friendly it is. The kit comes with everything you need but I used a hot glue gun to make sure all the furniture stays in place. You have to be very gentle popping out pieces because it can break easily. I learned this the hard way. The wiring was hard for me to understand. The instructions weren't the best at explaining so I went on YouTube and found alot of videos of this kit being built, that helped alot. You don't have to follow the instructions exactly when it comes to the decorating and that's was the funniest part. I kinda went off a little and did my own thing here and there. This is a bit less complicated kit and my daughter absolutely loved building it. The wires are still painfully thin just like other kits. But this was really a beautiful build and a lot of fun. I’m so glad we got this kit.

This was fun item to put together and get creative with. Not necessarily for the younger set as it does take some patience with all the small parts. I liked that I could make some custom adjustments to make it look like a setting from a favorite book. Obviously I like the bookshop theme and this will make for cute decor on top of my bookshelf. I have assembled a few mini house kits in the past and this one definitely lives up to the other ones I've put together. The pieces are well made and easy to pull apart and put together. The quality of the cut is well made and makes assembly much easier for beginners. The bookstore itself looks marvelous once put together and the light assembly was very easy to set up. When I first started this, I thought that it might end up being too cluttered - there are so many pieces to this kit. And yes, there are lots and lots of details, but I actually really like it. It reminds me of an outdoor bookstore downtown in the summer..lots of stuff outside, lots of clutter, but also lots of things to look at and explore. I’ve done a few of these ROBOTIME kits before and they are always a lot of fun. This one is similarly great fun. There are a lot of pieces to put together, but the instructions are laid out in a way that is very easy to understand. It’s also easy to know where the pieces go and to fit them together in the correct way. This takes quite a while, but it’s simple, so it’s a relaxing craft that I’ve had a lot of fun with. ... show more
