  • Fun and easy to assemble
Color: Blue-b
Easy to assemble and my cild loved playing with it. He also used it in a video project he was working on.

  • Surprisingly good quality. On par with some of the maker boxes.
Color: Black
Finally got around to starting this with my niece and she loved every minute of it. We aren’t done, and I need to grab photos next time we work on it. But I was surprised at the quality of the set. I thought it would be like putting together IKEA furniture where nothing quite fit. But assembling the car part was surprisingly straightforward and we didn’t have any extras laying around. She’s interested in anything to do with building so for her it’s really educational. She gets to see how software and hardware come together to create things like computers or robots or, in this case, a solar car with a camera. I’m sure most people who buy this are doing it for boys. But don’t neglect the girls. She had just as much fun. I’m hoping one of these days she build something incredible and makes us all rich with her giant brain. ... show more

  • Too confusing, apparently flawed electrical design
Color: Yellow
The wheels don't turn and it's hard to upload the programs. The documentation is very unclear. Also, when I asked Google Gemini what was wrong, it suggests there's a power problem. The motors don't turn unless the top 'Car Shield' board has its own power, and for that it suggests buying a DC Y splitter and then a DC-to-JST-PH 2.0mm adapter to plug into an open two-pin VIN/GND socket on the Car Shield. This is way too confusing even for an adult, and it appears to have some missing pieces. We just have to return it as it's way too confusing. ... show more

  • Second kit - so far they all rock - great for all ages
Color: Black
I've always wanted to try robotics. I'm a programmer by trade but I never get to do the software -> hardware interface stuff. Here's my chance all wrapped up in a really cool, package. This kit come in multiple packages. The kit has the car body, tank treads expansion, solar panel expansion, and ESP32 camera car expansion. There's very clear assembly instructions and videos on the manufacturer (Acebott) website. Not only that, all the initial CODE is also on the site. So, if you're a new roboticist, no worries, the code is all there for you to examine and install. You WILL need a computer / laptop to compile the code and program the vehicle. These are high quality models. This is my second and both work full as described. They are a lot of fun and give a huge sense of accomplishment when done. Plus, they're just so cool to play with :D I'd recommend any of these Acebott kits for anyone with interest of any age. ... show more

  • Level 10 Robotics
Color: Yellow
Took forever to assemble, super hard to get software, app and robot to work together. Not sure what this little remote is for? It looks cool when assembled but not easy for the age range specified for assembly

  • Discipline is key
Color: Black
It's a great STEM building kit as well as a nice intro course to programming. The physical build itself isn't hard at all but children under the age of 10 might lack the finesse & dexterity to fiddle with such tiny bolts and nuts. So I'd recommend at least partial adult supervision to teach the child the ropes, so to speak. The parent/child can also head over to the manufacturer's website (in the included documentation) to download all of the building instructions & lessons. It's going to be a hefty download in size, over a gig to my recollection. All of the lessons and buildings are broken up in relevant parts so you're not looking at a digitized tome consisting of thousands of pages. What you'll need to find will be find with just a few mouse clicks, if that. The user should also download ArduinoIDE or other compatible flasher/programmer software for connecting and in programming the ESP32 micro-controller board used for just about all low-cost IoT devices these days. Now, the aforementioned downloaded lessons also includes a completed program to allow the user to control the finished robot tank in as short as a few minutes. Simply upload and burn the program onto ESP32, download the smart app with which to connect & control it. This is great, of course. But they'd be bypassing the actual programming & learning process outright which is obviously defeating the purpose of buying this in the first place. And why should I? I could just as well find a radio controlled toy that actually looks like what it's mimicking and for a fraction of what this thing would go for at any given point in the marketplace. Treat this completed program as a testing template in making sure that the user has built the kit successfully. Then, they can take the time in learning to make it fully operational, this time in their terms. All in all, I think this is an excellent STEM kit to stimulate the mind of a curious child. It really helps with improving their focus levels as well as in developing their sense of self-discipline. I think a gentle nudge and encouragement will indubitably still be needed here to keep the child interested in finishing the build. But the sense of accomplishment they will get after completing it leave a lasting impression in my opinion. Fairly priced at the time being, very fun all throughout the journey to the destination. 5/5 stars, highly recommended. ... show more

  • Didn't use broke before assembly
Color: Yellow
We didn't even unboxet or assemble it. We opened it in the first piece. We took out broke almost immediately. For the price , I didn't want something that was going to break before we even assemble it.
