  • Fun
Wonderful! My son really enjoyed building this. He’s 11 and it was not difficult at all.

  • Tricky but Rewarding
This kit is pretty neat, but I think younger users will need a guiding hand. I built the arm with only a couple small areas of confusion, but everything worked on the first try putting it together. There are a lot of little pieces and screws that will be quite easy to lose or use the wrong part at the wrong time. There's three different screw sizes that are not labeled or separately packaged, and only referred to by their measurements (4, 7 ,10mm ) in the instructions. I accidentally ended up using the wrong motor first (there's four of two different kinds) and needed to take several pieces apart to put the right motor in. It took a few hours to put together due to my meticulousness. In the end, the arm's gripper wasn't able to really open and close because the gripper assembly was too tight. I think this could be fixed with a little sanding on the pieces to make the fit less resistant and snug. I powered the arm itself by soldering some cables to connect to my power supply instead of using batteries as intended. I did use batteries for the remote control which worked fine. The kit itself is definitely a good tool to teach people about robotics, but I definitely would recommend helping younger kids and being patient. ... show more

  • Awesome kit
MY 11 year old build this with ZERO help. The included instructions are very very clear with great pictures. The overall quality is good and the little motors are pretty powerful (good grab strength) He (son) is really into building robots and other STEM stuff and this was PERFECT for him. Don't over tighten the screws and make sure to leave a slight gap with the rubber o rings to make sure everythign moves freely. Really good battery life and good buttons on the controller too. Tons of fun overall and it works awesome. Great range of motion (left/right, AND forward/back/up/down.) ... show more

  • Very cool STEM Robot Arm kit. Lots of parts.A great gift for kids who loves messing with electronics
A pretty neat STEM kit! The finished product being an electronic, movable robotic arm! How Fun! What a great way to learn more about building with electronics and engineering! It works! Not the easiest to assemble, but where would the fun be if it was just a snap and play? This is meant to teach and challenge and it does just that! Everything in the kit was in good working order. A nice value for the price point especially when you consider the benefits! ... show more

  • Fun project for kids
If you can actually get your kid away from the tv, you'll have fun assembling this robotic arm. It's made really well, was easy to assemble with a bit of effort, and was a lot of fun to play with once put together. This reminded me of toys I had when I was little, which encouraged practicing patience and using brain power. I love giving my son educational STEM toys. The price seemed decent! ... show more

  • fun weekend learning
This DIY robot arm kit is a fun and educational project that introduces kids and teens to engineering, mechanics, and basic circuitry. The wooden parts fit together like a puzzle, and assembling it requires patience and attention, which makes it a great hands-on learning experience. Once built, the robot arm can be controlled with the included joystick-style controller. It’s satisfying to see the arm move and pick up lightweight objects, making it both playful and educational. The kit helps children understand how gears, motors, and circuits work together while sparking curiosity about robotics. The wood pieces are sturdy, though some require careful handling to avoid breaking during assembly. Instructions could be clearer in some parts, so adult guidance is helpful, especially for younger kids. ... show more

  • Great Robotics Project with Just the Right Level of Difficulty
My 11-year-old daughter enjoyed this kit. It took her about 4 hours to complete (with some frustration breaks), but the challenge was part of the learning process and she was very proud of herself when it was finished. She started out picking up small objects and eventually figured out how to use it to write with a pencil and marker. The one drawback is that the batteries don’t stay snug in the handheld controller, but we solved that with a bit of tape. She was able to follow the directions on her own, which was impressive. She also receives a monthly STEM subscription box, and I’d say the value of this kit is on par with that. It’s not too simple, just the right balance of work and learning to make it rewarding. I’d recommend this as a gift for tweens and teens who like to build and tinker. ... show more

  • A great birthday gift and fun robotics project to do with my 9-year-old daughter
The media could not be loaded. I got this for a birthday gift for my 9-year-old daughter and she absolutely loved it! It was a little more advanced than what she could handle on her own, but that just made it a really fun project for us to do together. It had all of the necessary tools, hardware, parts, and electronics to build a finished project. Everything went together pretty easily, and only occasionally required a little more force to get things to snap together. The only issue that we had was that a couple of the parts in the claw were too tight, so we had to make a couple adjustments to get it moving freely. It was a fun project to build and a fun toy to play with after it's finished. ... show more
