Solid, works great
Solid crimper; easy to use, and convenient. The labelled cable guide is nice for those of us running cable only once in a while; much nicer than printing the color guide. I had no issue with two different FTP and STP CAT6a runs, and bandwidth of the completed cables has been great.

Great tool for pass through connectors!
I bought these along with a bag of the pass through RJ-45 connectors. I put them on the tool bench after the re-wiring due to moving our office in the house from one room to another was complete. Basically, forgot about them. Recently, I need to add a new Wi-Fi AP to the house and was struggling with the old style connectors I had. I remembered these and their associated connectors. Went down to the tool bench, picked up the bag of connectors and the tool, and in the time I was struggling with a pair of terminated cables to be built and tested, I was able to finish the entire project and move on to other things. These pass through connectors are great and this tool is a MUST buy if you get the pass through RJ-45 connectors as it crimps and trims the wires coming out business end of the connector perfectly. It's worth ever dime. If you use pass through RJ-45's get this tool. It's that good. I'll still keep my other crimper as it can do 2,4,& 6 pair wire crimp RJs easily. I'll struggle making those ends but for RJ-45s, this is my tool. Period. ... show more

Really good little RJ45 crimper tool - and cuts the passthrough end nicely
Having switched to passthrough RJ45 connectors for Ethernet wiring jobs around the house I always had trouble trimming the ends - could never do a good job with a pair of scissors or a knife and the little RJ45 plug would never fit nicely and keep falling out. I have resorted to using rubber bands and tape to keep those little Ethernet plugs in!! After almost cutting my finger off trying to trim the ends the other day with the sharpest knife I could find, I thought there has to be a better way. So I looked on eBay and Amazon and saw that they did make inexpensive crimper tools that crimp the ends AND cut the wires sticking out of the RJ45 passthrough connector. I didn't want to wait 6-10 weeks for the eBay one to arrive, so saw a similar one and a similar price on Amazon. It arrived in 2 days. Crimper tool looks well made and very sturdy. More importantly when I used it the first time I had tears of joy! The end of my RJ45 passthrough wires were neatly cut !!! And I didn't have to risk losing a finger or stabbing my hand any more. I'm very pleased with it - wish I'd bought this thing years ago. Happy + would recommend! ... show more

Works GREAT … just one suggestion.
Great crimpers for RJ45 jobs. If you want an all-purpose tool (e.g for RJ11 as well, etc), this isn’t it. RJ45 5&6 only. However, I only do RJ11 occasionally these days, so the trade-off is well worth this tool’s compact size. It’s very well made and has a very smooth action as well, but it’s compact size is definitely it’s best feature for me. - - The only suggestion for use is…. when initially inserting the tipped cable, be sure that the copper pairs that will be sticking out the front prior to crimping (this is for pass-through tips), are as straight as possible so they don’t get snagged. This possibly can be reduced by trying to have as little extra sticking out the front of the tips as possible, but that’s often hard to judge when trying to work quickly, and the whole purpose of pass-through tips is to avoid hassling with multiple wire trims to begin with. - - Anyways, hope this made sense. I would definitely recommend these and would buy again if needed. ... show more

Inexpensive crimping tool.
A durable little tool that does exactly what it says it does at an affordable price. Fits comfortably in the hand and does the job of terminating a Cat5 or 6 cable quickly and easily.

Great tool
If you watched a bunch of YT videos on how to make your own CAT cables you saw one tool consistently in videos that demonstrate the ease at which cables can actually be done, this is the one. With a supply of the pass through RJ45 plugs you can finger cramp your way through producing cables of any custom length. The easy reference color chart on the handle is a perfect addition to this tool, I used it for every single connector, easier than trying to look at your phone every time if you don't have a color printer. I was running 23AWG CAT 6A cables and its ease of use made the job easier as far as that process went, makes nice clean connections. Make sure to put your junction box weather plug and your strain relief boot on before starting wire stripping. Have good lighting when doing this other wise it leads to mistakes in the wire insertion. That is what the cable tester is for though. ... show more

A well constructed crimping tool that is very comfortable to use
This crimping tool is very well constructed, comes with clear instructions for those that haven't used a passthrough style crimping tool and is very comfortable in the hand unlike some other crimping tools that I have used in the past.
