  • Works ok, deceptive title/description.
The keys are a little undersized, but this was expected with the sizing photo. Everything plugged in and worked on the piano. However, THESE ARE NOT VELOCITY SENSITIVE KEYS, no volume or articulation difference whatsoever with difference in playing. Also the 1000 voices I'm pretty sure repeat at some point. The UI isn't very well designed, you have to cycle through every option to change anything, so again if you want voice 502, you've got 500 clicks of the volume knob to go. Tones aren't very good either. Would not recommend. ... show more

  • Okay for a Beginner
At $99, this isn't a bad piece of equipment. We ordered this for our oldest grandchild (age 4). All of our kids learned to play on a full size upright. That was quite the commitment in not only money but also space in the house and we had three kids using it so easier to amortize the cost. We have no idea if this one will want to learn or have any gift for it but we want to introduce her to music at a young age. That background helps set the stage for our expectations of this keyboard. The sound is as you would expect, the keys aren't very responsive and the controls are difficult to understand but, it's about the most inexpensive way available to introduce someone to the joy of learning to play the piano. If they really like it and show some dedication, you could very quickly "outgrow" this unit. If it's not something they wish to pursue, you haven't spent very much. From the perspective of a new player, there is nothing wrong with this key board. ... show more

  • For this children.
I got this keyboard for my grandson to use when he came over so he could start learning. He has a decent one at his mother's house, but I wanted him to have one here as well so he can continue practicing. I don't have a lot of money and I didn't want to shell out large amounts for something that is just used now and then. With that being said, however, I did want something that felt like his other keyboard and more than a toy. For the price, that is what I expected, but not what I got. For the price, it isn't terrible, but I think it is a little over priced and lacks the value. It does come with a stand, pedals, stickers, and even a cheap little microphone, which was nice, but not as important as the keyboard. My grandson does enjoy messing with all the different sounds and rhythms, even though there are more than he'll ever need. I will say, figuring out how to switch through them isn't the easiest thing, it takes practice and a lot of patience. It is actually a pain. One issue I have is the keys. They don't feel like a quality piano should. I think they are fine for a 12 year old on a practice piano at his grandpa's house, but that's about it. The built in speaker is fair at best, but the keys sound much better through a headphone. Besides, it is quieter that way for me and grandma. For a beginner setup, it does the job. If my grandson sticks with this for any amount of time, I will have to buy another one, probably in about six months. So, considering that short of a life, it might be a better idea to spend the extra up front. As far as quality of build, it is fairly light, plastic case, but feels like it isn't going to fall apart tomorrow, so that's a plus. Overall, it's okay for a kid learning to play. I don't personally like the feel of the keys or the sound, but hey, I am not a concert pianist and neither in my grandson (yet!) I hope this review was helpful! ... show more
