We purchased a few different sets of these to use on the Valor Fitness CC-4 Adjustable Leg Curl Extension Machine (I wrote a review for this as well). These plates are really quiet and easy to move around because of the handles on them, which was/is important to me. Many people have mentioned the strong rubber smell. For the first few days out of the box, the smell was really strong. But it faded shortly thereafter. Now, the smell is only noticeable when we are right by them, and it is not that bad at all. I really like these plates. They would be perfect if they were not covered in some oil. I wiped them off with paper towels, but they still stink up the room. It seems like the smell is getting better, or I am just getting used to it.
