For someone who's been lifting weights for over 30 years, I can tell you this is a good set. I would go with these over plastic any day. The barbell connects well, and feels sturdy. The weights are excellent for this price, especially since price of weights recently have gone from $1 a pound to $2 a pound or more. The screwlocks have a rubber piece that falls out pretty easily, and usually tightening after each set is required. This is easily fixable with a couple of those butterfly clamps, or whatever theyre called. Ordering some now from amazon. I really recommend ordering the largest set to get the case. The case has wheels, they don't roll very well but they work well enough. It allows for the whole gym to disappear behind a couch. When my set arrived however, the plastic case was cracked in many, many places. The great thing was, this company responded and sent out a new case with light speed. Everything fits beautifully in it now, and I'm very happy. I'm certain they encounter this often, as it's difficult probably to get shipping companies to handle something this heavy with care. Rest assured, when it arrives, your weights will be intact, and if you need another case, they'll send one out. So buy this with confidence. Honestly, I researched for so long before buying. So save yourself some time, buy this one, and just get to lifting. Cheers.

Case came well packaged and yet damaged. Hole in a corner and 1/3 of clasps was ripped off and placed in outer protection. 1 weight has extra material, so not a smooth weight ... beyond that, was to be a gift. I've added it to my set and went to a store and bought another. 4 stars because it's useful still

I bought this set as a gift for my husband. He absolutely loves this set and uses it everyday as a supplement to other workouts at the gym. It was received with the carrying case broken. However, I contacted the seller and they sent out a new case. We received it within days! I love a company that responds and stands by their products.

I'm not upset...I needed the weight not the quality really. The case is cracked but what do you expect from an online order. The two problems we have with this is the chrome coating was overdone and my husband and I will get metal splinters in our hands using this if we dont wear gloves. The other kind of annoying thing is that the nuts constantly come unscrewed. You can't rest a dumbbell on your leg between sets because it'll twist the plate and it'll losen it to the point where it's slowly spinning while you're lifting which is frankly not just uncomfortable but terrifying. I'm spending quite a bit of time just re-tightening the darn nuts during my workout. This was a good choice for us price-wise trying to build a home gym on a budget though and it's still working out. Pun intended.
