The media could not be loaded. I really like this heater. A lot sturdier than my previous heater. The birds loved it!! Only thing was length of the cord. I think you can add extension cord if needed but I would make sure.

    • Keeps the water from freezing
I have to use it under the metal waterer because of the lid on the water for the chickens. It hasn’t been the frozen tundra in lower Michigan yet. Will update in February.

    • Good for pet's water bowl
I needed a solution for my cat's outdoor water bowl. I did have to upgrade her bowl to something larger that would fit this, but it was worth being able to keep fresh, unfrozen water available outside for her.

This heater works well. It keeps the water from freezing, you can set it in and leave it alone since it is thermostatically controlled. Just remember to keep water in for the critters! Here's the rub. The bath needs to be fairly sturdy since this heater is kind of bulky. The cord is a little thick and the heater itself is 3/4" thick. To stay at the bottom the cord or unit itself may need to be weighed down. So if you have a nice big ceramic bird bath this would be perfect. If you have a shallow plastic bird bath, maybe not.     • My ducks love it
-I got this to put in my ducks pool for the winter. -I would highly recommend! -The cord is decent length, we hooked it into an extension cord due to the location of our power supply. -So far so good, the temperature has been below 20 and it has done a great job of keeping their pool thawed!
