This headset is everything I could ask for in a gaming headset. I have been doing online gaming since 2006 when the PS3 launched and now continue to do so on PS4. I have gone through several different brands of headsets and almost all of them had some form of major flaw. I spent weeks debating which $150 headset to buy looking for patterns in the product reviews. Every product will have some negative reviews that have a similar issue which can be chalked up to a bad batch but you really learn the truth when the medium reviews start to back up the bad as well. All the other headsets had structural week spots, sporadic sound quality, were uncomfortable or had mediocre mics. I chose this headset because despite lacking a few of the bells and whistles it is a trusted brand that’s been making headsets for decades. It’s even the same brand used in my wife’s office. I figured it would be comfortable which it most definitely is as well as feeling light weight at the same time. At the same time the elastic band provides a snug fit no matter the size of your head so your headset doesn’t go flying off if you pick something up or move your head quickly. Due to the company’s history in the business I expected a top quality mic and was not disappointed. As a bonus all you have to do to mute the mic is flip it upward which is much more convenient than fumbling for a button. Lastly I expected a solid pair of speakers to give me solid sound clarity that I expected to give a B+ rating but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of sound this headset provides and in Reality it earned a solid A+ rating in sound going above and beyond what i expected from this brand providing the best audio I’ve ever experienced from a headset. The first game I played was 7 days to die and I immediately noticed ambient sounds I never knew existed. It was several minutes until I encountered a group of zombies to open fire on. When I did I was blown away at the level of bass and clarity of the sound. Then integrity of the sound never compromised during the several minutes of automatic gunfire and the quality of sound made me feel I was at the gun range shooting the guns in real life. As icing on the cake the battery life on this headset is ridiculously long and it took seconds to set up. This is far better than I ever expected from a wireless headset and can’t recommend it enough to anyone currently looking in this price range.

Best headset I've ever owned. I've used a Plantronics RIG 400HX for the last 4 years and my microphone stopped working on Tuesday. I ordered the 800HS on Wednesday and the headset was here in less than 24 hours. Super fast shipping! The reason I stuck with the RIG is the amount of comfort. I use my headset for 8+ hours a day and to have something comfortable that doesn't hurt my ears or my head is a must. This headset is the exact same comfort as my previous headset, I love it! What impressed me other than the comfort is the sound. You can toggle whether you want to hear music clearer or voice clearer. The equalizer settings are nice also. The sound quality is so much better than the 400HX. To spend $30 more on this headset and it is wireless, is money well spent. I received a Razor headset a couple years ago for Christmas and I've only used it a hand full of times because it is very tight on the ears and uncomfortable. So thank you very much for the quick delivery and great product.

I have been gaming for many years and have had the same brand/type of headset the whole time... I love this headset for sooo many reasons; being a female gamer headsets don't fit very well (all too big); but these fit perfect... The sound is amazing, lasting 24 hours is wonderful for all night gaming, the feel is great, the up & down mute I love... But unfortunately when used after 6 months to 8 months the up/down mic gets horribly scratchy... I'm almost 40 and have taken excellent care of my headsets, never drop them, always handle with care; but every pair I have owned has done this (think 6 pairs)... I kept buying them because there is nothing else out there, that is comparable to these and that fit sooo well and have sooo many wonderful features... But after so many years and sooo much cost and patience, I am terribly disheartened that all end up this way; with no improvement to this problem in sight... If I had a soldering iron, I would open them up myself and attempt to repair it; but nervous about breaking anything internal... Wish I could just send in for repair after all the money I have spent buying these... 😔

Great sound, but not as advertised. You cannot toggle between chat and game sound. It only turns game and chat volume up and down. I replaced the optical cable for a ridiculously priced one and it makes not difference. I contacted plantronics and they didn’t care, just told me to return it if it didn’t do what I thought it would. But chat/game sound ratio is important to me. So I gues I’ll be returning it. Unfortunately because I really love it otherwise. Fits great, sound is great. Just can’t stand hearing some cough or talk loudly in my ear without being able to turn them down or off. Edit: it does in fact toggle between game & party chat. It just requires a very specific configuration which is not mentioned in the directions. I had to go to Reddit to find out how. That being said, it does work as advertising, just needs instructions. I am now very happy with this headset!

Overall, great headset, can't really complain. These give the arctis 7's a good lil run for the money, but sound quality is better on the arctic. That sound this headset is no slouch in the sound department. Now with the arctis 7's there is no tuning between the voice chat & game volume for the arctic. So depending on whether you want sound quality or your looking to fine tune between your friends & game volume. I for one appreciatefine tuning my volumes over better sound quality that barely out does this headset. I tried about 5 other headsets & this one came out on top overall. Great job Plantronics, sad to see your not selling them anymore I hope to see a successor to this headset with many more features. Looking at you Arctis Pro Wireless.

This would be a 5 star headset. The sound, comfort, and battery life are all top notch. However they only last a year at best. Myself and 3 friends all bought these. Since day one we were extremely satisfied. Well except one person, he got a mic that wouldn’t charge and had to send them back and wait for a new pair. The 6 months to a year we all had problems. One person can’t move the mic itself or it starts give crazy static to everyone in the party. Then the rest of us couldn’t use our volume controls anymore. Then we all had the static sound kick in. Such a shame because they really are a great headset if they could only last longer.

Unit powered up to a voice loop of power on then power off and never completed the total cycle it just repeated the same thing over and over. There was a clicking sound in between. This was a reconditioned unit and although clean it certainly was NOT in working condition Update: I was able to get the headset to eventually turn on and connect but the volume was very low. The volume control did not change the volume.

I've been using these headsets for a couple days now and let me tell you, holy crap! I hear everything, no joke, because I can hear every little foot step, Trickle, leaves rustling, pin hitting the floor. And for the price it was not bad. Only thing I don't like and it's because I'm not used to it, is that I can hear things around me like the fish tank or a dog walking by and it sounds like an echoes in the headset a little but no one but me here is it. But yeah if you want a good headset even when it's not on sale I would recommend these guys and the battery really does last 24 hours.
