I posted a question and got one good answer (Yes) and one poor answer (Probably), so I felt the need to post a review with pictures. First and foremost, it works with the WD4070. You are going from a cheap caster twin wheel (which is why you are probably here - because it broke and Ridgid had no ETA for replacements) to a steel and single-wheel configuration. So, I consider this an upgrade. While I didn't measure the difference, I read somewhere that you should replace both (to eliminate any rocking) even if one is broken. They charged way too much money. It was ridiculous. I would not buy anything else from them. Then I decided to check online for 12293 Caster and you could get them about 20% less online.

    • Exact fit for my Craftsman Shop Vac
I got tired of dragging my shop vac around on 3 wheels after I loaned it to a neighbor and he returned it with a wheel missing. I had trouble finding the part, so I sent an email to Craftsman parts support. They responded promptly and informed me that the vacuum was made by Emerson and I should contact them for parts support. Emerson makes the Rigid brand sold the big box store. Once I knew that it was quite easy to determine the part I needed. The caster arrived in 2 days and it popped in the empty slot quite easily. I assumed, (silly me) that this was a set of 4 casters. THIS IS FOR ONE. It will fit, but for the price its going back.

I finally replaced the caster and wheel on my Rigid 20-gallon shop vac. The only thing the new wheel is a little bigger than original wheels on the vac and causes it to teeter, but that may be because the old wheels have been worn down over the years. Nevertheless, it works, and I can freely roll my shop vac around again. Three wheeling the vac was not fun. ... show more
