Its a fine product, but the size in the display pictures/description is misleading. The description contradicts itself with dimensions a couple times, and the pictures just lie lol. Everything else is as advertised, and i'm not too bummed since this stuff always expands a TON. I love this! I have a live Crabitat Ecosystem. I put it in a giant tub with 50lbs of play sand and hot water. It expanded and mixed so well for the perfect Beach Substitute Substrate. We have 14 crabs and 9 are tunnelled into the substrate molting. They Love it! & My live Bamboo is thriving in it.

This sphagnum moss is awful. It molds quickly. It's full of sticks. It is just terrible substrate! Save your money, save your time, do not order this. It is no good! I purchased it for plants. I have tried sterilizing it different ways after the first time I used it for trying to propagate, it quickly molded, it's not even good for compost! ... show more

This sphagnum moss is alright. It's not the worst out there. It's pretty good for the price. I didn't find any additives in it but there was quiet a lot of dirt. After soaking it for use, it turns a dingy brown color and has a very pungent smell. Not bad necessarily, but not as pleasant as other brands, say Spagmoss. I used this for carnivorous plants and it needed a few rinses to get the ppm low enough. After rinsing with distilled water, it brought the ppm to 186.This stuff is the difference between $35 per 12L compared with the $13 I paid for this. ... show more

Not sure if its something on my end, but my ball python has never had mold in his enclosure ever. Added some of this stuff and some fuzzy mold began to grown on it. Make sure it doesn't get too wet.

I think it's a good amount of product for the cost considering it expands. I used it for my snake hides and we'll see how it goes. I uploaded pics to show how big 1 pack is and to show there are sticks in it. Not totally "clean."

If you are dumb like me, be aware this stuff will expand with water. Like I knew that would happen, but not to the degree that it happened. I was like, oh hmmm maybe I didn’t get enough. And then it took over my home and ate my family. Pest free and clean. I used it for my plants and its working great. No dirt in it. ... show more
