So this buggy is awesome. It is fast, handles jumps well and handles quite well. However a couple of minor crashes stopped it. The first of which, on grass, caused the front left upper dog bone to pop off. I was able to pop it back on with pliers. Happened again to a different dog bone next time I ran it. Final time it limped its way back to me. I assumed it had popped a dog bone again, but discovered the rear left lower dog bone was now completely gone, and the upper had dragged a flat spot in the remaining ball joint. I’m returning this car as defective given the number of issues in its first 20 min of use. I’m exchanging for a new one and hoping that the issues I experienced were isolated to that specific car. I will update when I’ve gotten my replacement. ——- 11/21 update I’ve had this car for about a month now. After getting the replacement I haven’t had any further issues. I really like this car. It is fun, it’s fast, and it handles awesome. It’s almost too fast when you put 3s in it, and I would highly recommend putting a gyro in it if you go that root. The most economical option for that it to swap out the stock receiver (X6F) for the (X6FG) both made by dumboRC. You can set it on or off, and if you want to upgrade the transmitter too you get a channel that controls the level of steering assistance. Rlaarlo also now has a gyro on their website that gives you a bit more control over the gyro settings on the unit itself, but it costs four times as much as doing the receiver. But I digress. If you take a hard enough spill you can still end up hunting for your dogbones. The tie rods attach to ball end screws (all based off of the WLToys 1:12&1:14 design) so a hard enough knock can cause the rod to pop off of the ball end and then the dog bone can fall out. Do NOT upgrade your tie rods to the metal ones Rlaarlo has for sale. While it is a way to bypass this particular issue, they do not fit, the screws are too long and narrow and you need to use a nut to secure them. Additionally the adjustment nut/screws become loose extremely easily and your tuning will be a total mess. Rlaarlo knows this is an issue but continues to sell them. They’re rating 1* for a reason. Also if you plan to run 3s, I would recommend adding the motor fan which can also be found on their website. Overall I would say that if you are a beginner and can be disciplined to keep your throttle trimmed between 50-60% (knobs under plastic panel on remote transmitter) then you will have a lot of fun. If you know that you’re going to go full blast I’d get something a bit slower and sturdier until you have better control. If you’ve had a few fast cars under your belt then I can’t recommend this enough. I’d also suggest looking at their 1:14 brushless basher. I have that too, I love it, and if you’re patient you’ll find a deal. While the buggy handles jumps with grace and little body slap, I think it’s aimed more towards racing and general bashing whereas the 1:14 is a jumping beast. It’s fast, durable (so far), and has good air control. I’ve been very impressed with both of these Rlaarlo cars. If you plan to bash hard I’d recommend upgrading to metal steering brackets (knuckles) for a lot more durability. 3s in both if these cars is insane. 2s is already really fast. Rlaarlo has recently burst onto the scene with all kinds of cool and interesting RC vehicles, all high quality and AFFORDABLE? Yep. They build some great RC vehicles, gotta have them all, and I do! Crazy stuff coming!! Now the good part. This thing is a beast! If bashing is your thing, this will bash with the best! I ran it into half a dozen curbs, nothing busted. High spped jumps over cornhole boards? Took it like a champ. Charge it, and change tires, that should be it, it you're not too aggro. My first time gunning the throttle, I was a bit disappointed, it was a little sluggish, not very quick, and not very fast at that. Turns out, I'd been fiddling with the trim controls, and apparently had set the throttle to about 1/3. A twist of that knob, and BOOM! Fire breathing desert truck! The motor is finished in a Castle-like green, and is matched with a killer proprietary ESC. Radio is typical RL, gets the job done, quick, accurate, but nothing fancy. Looks great, and 100% gets the job done. I absolutely love Rlaarlo's AK-917, and also have their 1/14 truck, which is my daily. This handles very well, very stable in high speed cornering, and super quick. Not sure about top speed, but I don't doubt their claims on this one. Rlaarlo also has incredible customer service, the folks over there answer all of my emails in less than 24 hours, usually in just a few hours. They have helpful advice, and make it right when things don't work out perfectly. A+ for customer service, great guys, very knowledgable. As much fun as you are going to have for $185, period.     • Fast, Fun, Affordable!

The media could not be loaded. My young son and I have really enjoyed this little basher. He is still learning how to control these cars so price, durability, and ease of use are all important factors for me to consider when trying one of these RC trucks. Price: great value for the money. There was a coupon available at time of purchase which brought the price under $200. For a brushless RTR basher with the performance features this one has, that’s great value. Durability: so far, so good! We took this out on a dirt bmx track over the weekend and ran it hard. There was sand, mud, puddles, and lots of jumps. It didn’t seem to like the water, so I would advise not hitting deep puddles with it, but it handled everything else like a champ. Zero broken parts, not even the wing which looked dangerously exposed. Ease of use: very easy to get up and running with zero assembly beyond attaching the optional wing and/or stickers. You will need AA batteries for the radio, but that’s all. As far as operation goes, it was very simple. Performance: it’s pretty quick right out of the box. The brushless motor has lots of power but is smooth, and easy to control. Handling and suspension are great and had us wishing we had a bit more speed by the end of the day. It’s 3S capable, and I would like to try that in the future as a quick way to get more power. Overall I’m very happy with this truck!
