My wife and did a 3669 mile road trip from New Hampshire to Florida towing a jetski, and back. I wanted to be secure at the multiple hotels we stayed at, so I bought this locking hitch pin after doing a bunch of research. In short it was perfect. After the entire trip, the only light signs of wear were the paint coming off where it passes through the hitch/receiver. The rust in the picture is from my hitch (which is from an older truck I used to have). The metal was completely unmarred. Unlocking it after ~33 days where it was exposed to rain, salt, sand, mud, ocean water, and who knows what else, it was smooth and easy. I'm going to use this thing to permanently replace the stock pin. It fit snugly against the hitch, with no room for someone to "get in under" the end, to pry or saw it off. It's very solidly made, and I was quite pleased. I took some extra precautions at night, in addition to this. Lock through the coupler, and then a thick steel cable through the trailer and my trucks' frame, so someone would have to really work to get the trailer. Not a single issue.

USA is literally in their name. They are very proud to say they are an American company. USA! AMERICA! USA! AMERICA!!...... It is plastered all over their ads and their website. You may think that you are buying an American product...........Well, no. It's made in China. Not that "made in China" is automatically inferior quality (but a whole lot of their stuff is.), or that "Made In The USA" automatically means it is higher quality, (but, often it IS higher quality...). And it's not like Rhino USA exactly hides where their stuff is manufactured. (If you drill down deep enough into their website, you can find in their FAQ that their products are manufactured offshore.) But, it all feels a little intentionally misleading and kinda' leaves a sour taste in my mouth. That aside, the lock itself looks nice, it seems very solid and nicely made. Time will tell about longevity or corrosion resistance, but it's not like this is a high tech item. It will probably work just fine for a long time. I must address though, an issue brought up in a video review concerning the ease with which this lock can be picked. Obviously this video was made primarily so we can all marvel at the guy's lock picking skills. In reality, it makes no difference. Sadly, It's sort of laughable. These locks are great at removing the temptation from some shady cat at the boat ramp who glances over and realizes he could simply pull a clip, yank the pin, slide the hitch into his receiver, and haul your $6k trailer away. However, these locks are not going to stop a professional thief, and that difficult to pick, high dollar barrel key lock isn't going to slow them down either......... Unlike TV and movie thieves, in real life, the bad guys usually aren't really all that smart or dedicated to their craft. It would never occur to 99.9% of them to put in the time to learn how to pick locks. They'll just grab that rechargeable cut off tool they stole from their neighbors garage and in 30 seconds or so, they'll have any receiver pin lock, no matter how expensive, lying in the dirt.

I no longer have to remove my ball hitch when I leave my car outside on a busy street. I'm guessing thieves take a look and move on instead of getting a quick score to sell on marketplace. Worth the price and easy install and works great. Super product. Tows my boat great too!

I just installed a trailer hitch on my GX 460 and added a Rhino USA Shackle Hitch Receiver and wanted to make sure it wouldnt disappear when out on excursions. The lockable pin is very high quality with a nice cover to ensure the keyhole doesn’t rusted out.
