Have been using this product since early Dec on my Quest3. It seemed fine at first and VERY comfortable. (I've experienced various straps on my Q2 and find this one very nice so far) Then about 2 weeks later, I noticed no need to 'unscrew' the strap, it would separate with a pull, but still hold tight during sessions. Unfortunately, this behavior got worse overtime and now it comes loose during active gameplay. I still have return privilege by the end of January and wonder if I get a new one, will it be improved (based on the nice support comments I've read here) UPDATE - Anthony, from tech support also contacted me regarding this issue and has fully satisfied this issue by sending an updated version. Note: The box with the replacement had a colored graphic rather than black/white info, so this may be an indicator. Anyway, the new one was plenty secure and I am putting through more hours. It is still comfortable. Thank you!

This head strap would be awesome for the Quest 2. For the Quest 3, it can't output enough power to keep the headset charged at 100% all the time because it doesn't meet the more demanding power requirements of the Quest 3. The head strap's percentage of charge isn't displayed within the UI like Meta's own powered head strap - just the percentage of headset's battery with the 'charging' icon - like all other non-Meta external batteries to date. Unfortunately, with the Meta charging dock this head strap has to be plugged into its own power source to charge and disconnected from the headset for best charging. This is unlike 1st party Meta accessories in which the Meta battery head strap can stay plugged into the headset and the headset simply placed on the Meta charging dock (using just 1 power cable) that can charged both batteries without issue. I just got this head strap and will continue to use it and see just how long I can use it before the internal headset battery slowly goes down to near 0%. It is comfortable and fits pretty well. I'm using it with the Meta silicone facial interface. The lights work. Time will tell how it really performs and holds up for sure.

I bought this because of the great price of a comfortable fit and a longer charge time. However after having a couple weeks I found that the battery does not keep my meta quest 3 charged. It certainly makes it drains slower but will not keep it at 100%. Saying that, the head strap comfort is wonderful. Just wish it would actually charge. I just play poker in it and watch some videos but I feel like it should at least keep up with the drain. Overall 3 out of four stars for the price.

A few things to know about this product: 1. The padded head strap and back of the head pad Feel Great! 2. The lights look cool…to other people ;) 3. It connects pretty easily and lets you play a little longer. Now for the not so great stuff 1. Back of the head pad doesn’t stay seated in the little plastic sockets. They slip out over time with relatively calm play and then fall out so you have to constantly fix that. 2. the lights look cool but then they’re on while you’re playing and ‘maybe’ they use up power, it’s not clear. It’s never clear to me when I’m on the backup power or the main unit power. There are charge lights on the back knob but they work the same if you plug them directly into power or if you charge the unit separately? So if there is pass through charging, it’s no clear. I ended up charging each separately and together but honestly the amount of playtime feels the same. 3. I really like how it feels when it’s on, it’s well balanced and comfortable and there doesn’t appear to be any extra heat toward the back of the head. 4. Big downside, if you’ve purchased a travel case, your unit will no longer fit into that case with this extension hooked up. So that is annoying. I recommend this type of extension for sure but my experience with this one has been a mixed bag.
