  • Perfect for a youngster
UPDATE: I just realized that this kit comes with only two ICs. Not a problem for me because I have a stock pile of old ICs I've had for years. If you are new to breadboarding, you will want to get a mix of ICs, starting with a 555 timer. Amazon has a great selection of IC Kits, so pick one within your budget and have fun! This is a great little kit. I'm retired now, but I made my living for many years as an Electronics Tech, so I thought it would be fun to "play around" a little. This kit has plenty of bits and pieces to spend many hours just playing around, but I find the components are small for my clumsy hands and fading vision. I made a couple of projects and plan to make a few more, but eventually I'll have to pass it on to the younger generation. If you have a pre-teen or teen with an interest in this sort of thing, I happily recommend this kit. ... show more

  • Great for beginners
I'm pleasantly surprised with how much is provided in the kit especially with how inexpensive it is. I'm just starting to learn how to build microcontrollers in my engineering class, and this kit has all of the components I need for my class. All of the components are in great condition, and work well with the sensors I have attached as well. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Nice assortment; liked everything (almost...)
Overall a nice assortment of parts at a very reasonable price. The breadboard is ok, but like most of the 'inexpensive from the East' breadboards, it's sockets tend to get 'tired' quickly. Namely if you plug a jumper into a hole on the breadboard, then try to replace it with something that has a smaller lead, you'll find the hole is often now too expanded to grip the smaller lead. This is very noticeable with the resistors supplied with the kit, which have much smaller gauge leads than the jumpers (in least in my kit this is true). There are resistors with larger gauge size (smaller gauge number) that would be a much better choice (I have some from a C*n*kit and from other sources). It's a bit hard to be very critical when the price is so reasonable, but still... So watch out when setting up circuits with components that are a bit loose in the breadboard - your circuit may be quite likely to have intermittent problems. ... show more

  • Nice kit, needs an actual part list
As an electrical engineer I really like this as a starter kit for getting kids started with electronics since there are plenty of breadboard projects that can be done to start learning how the different parts work before adding an arduino or raspberry pi, but the documentation with this kit is useless. A link that doesn't work, and if you google well enough find the updated version, it still takes a search of the site and a download (sketchy to say the least) to get the parts list that should be included in the box by default. ... show more

  • Great kit for the price. Quality is ok for casual experiments. Connections are fragile/sloppy so be
I hooked up three small pin-count sensors to a microcontroller for an experiment- this worked great. I used about 15 jumpers, four resistors, a capacitor and the breadboard. It will works well. For beginners doing more than a few connections, I’d suggest it’s a great cheap way to learn, but you must verify connections with an ohm meter every time you touch it because the breadboard sockets are very lightweight and pretty loose connection. ... show more

  • Good kit
I like that it has all the Tupperware, you need, board, and power supply. I purchased a 9 V AC adapter.

  • Very cool!
Everything came in good shape. Love that it came with a 74HC595 IC. Good buy. Highly recommend it!

  • Reversed Polarity!
For the most part, this product was good. I was able to save money by bundling all of this together. My issue was that the power supply was installed backward so the +- powerstrip labels on the breadboard were not accurate. I damaged a handful of the ICs trying to figure out the issue before I noticed that backward power supply. ... show more
