  • Perfect Pressing, Amazing Mix
First off, I have a bunch of vinyl I inherited from there different aunt's. One of them had a bunch of Beatles vinyl in varying degrees of condition. Revolver was one of them. The record itself was pristine but the case was literally taped together and yellowed from tobacco smoke. Not only that, it was MONO. So I've heard the original mono master, the 1980s masters from my 90s CDs, the 2009 remaster digitally and I held out on listening to the new 2022 remaster (aside from the Taxman and Tomorrow Never Knows [Take 1] singles) until I got this in. I've spent nearly two months with it now. Listened to it I would say about 20 times. I will say the first time I listened to it I thought there was a small defect, a pop about 15 - 20 seconds into Eleanor Rigby, but every subsequent listen it hasn't been there, so I put that up to a less than adequate initial cleaning, as I was excited to get it on my turntable and hear it! I don't think I need to review the music, do I? I think like most music fans I know this and most middle and later stage Beatles albums like the back of my hand. I know all of these songs by heart and if your here looking at this page chances are you do as well and reading this review isn't going to change your mind. Let me just say - ignore the negative reviews. It sounds great, it's the Beatles. It's a new remaster of a classic (all of them are) Beatles album using amazing technology that brings everything forward and you can hear everything clearly. Nothing is muffled anymore. Pristine Music. Sure, you MIGHT get one that has a manufacturing defect and you might have to return it. That's the nature of the beast with vinyl. But your chances of that happening are low, and if it does happen all you have to do is return it and get a new copy. It's not the end of the world, and it's worth it to hear this masterpiece on a vinyl record. ... show more

  • Buying this LP answered a Beatles Trivia question that I had for many decades.
Back in the days when I was really quite young and in MIDDLE SCHOOL, the Beatles were recording a number of songs that I heard mostly on the radio. Tracks such as ELEANOR RIGBY, YELLOW SUBMARINE ( which came along much later ), and a host of other memorable Songs that I do not have the space to name here. I had always considered them to have been 45s or singles that back in the 60s were often released on their own. It was not until I recently picked up a copy of REVOLVER that I came to realize that all of these songs had a home on an LP. A Beatles LP that I had somehow managed to miss as I grew up. I was just amazed as the LP played along and I was allowed to bring back memories from a time in my life when I was extremely innocent and very young indeed. It was a most interesting twenty minutes spent as I sat back and listened to a side of Beatles Music I had not had the chance to hear since well let's just say it was an extremely long time ago for some of these songs. ... show more

  • A must have for you Revolver fans!!!!
Blows away all previous versions by a large margin including the 2009 reissues!!!!! Giles has done another great job!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!! I'm what some may call an audiophile and my audio system exploits everything good . . . and bad and thankfully it is all good for this remastering. The stereo mixes have been completely redone and now the LP sounds like it should!! Lead vocals are now centered and the harmonies are much louder which is all good! Moreover the remixes now provide a much better soundstage and sounds much fuller. The 'presence' boost, most evident in the original FP I own, and to a lesser degree with the 2009 reissues has been attenuated. I believe Giles also employed a 'de-esser' to get rid of sibilance which was most annoying in the original release and this new remastering has made the original and 2009 release almost unplayable by comparison. Giles has done a masterful job - I can't wait until he does the same to Rubber Soul and the early recordings!!! ... show more

  • Good enough for the price
This is my favorite Beatles album, and I've heard it in several different editions (although I don't think I've heard an original press in either mono or stereo). Basically, I would say it's very good but I'm not blown away. Mix- Well done, but not revelatory. I didn't feel like I was hearing anything I hadn't heard before. Nice separation of instruments and decent soundstage. Fat bass sound, no harshness in the high end. There was a digital step in the mastering, and I think it shows. This doesn't have the visceral presence or three-dimensionality of an all-analog transfer. However, it was only $27, and you'd probably have to spend many times that to get something demonstrably better. If you have a stereo version that you're already happy with, you probably don't need this. Press- Surprisingly noisy even after a thorough wet cleaning, although not intrusively so except in very soft passages. My copy was warped, so I'll probably send it back and try again. Music- If you don't know by now... ... show more

  • Good Remix but watch the wow and flutter
I went through 2 copies before I got one that isn’t as bad as the first two. The records are pressed off center on side 1 and the quality control people in the Czech Republic are not doing their job. When you place a new record on the turntable and need to force the spindle through the hole because it’s been punched too small, it’s a sure sign the pressing is off center. Aside from this major inconvenience, the sound is exquisite, clean and punchy. It doesn’t tire the ear. I even ended up liking John’s songs. The half speed mastering is a nice touch. ... show more

  • Half-speed mastered at Abbey Road Studio
One star missing for the changing seller information. 5 star for the remixing and remastering, and of course the music. For at least a day or so this was advertised as 2 records and 180 gram vinyl. That wording changed to its present state. What is not advertised is that this is half-speed mastered at Abbey Road Studio as mentioned by another reviewer. I was lucky and didn’t have any warping issues. The sound is remarkable in its clarity and richness. Best sounding Revolver hands down. ... show more

  • Hell of a remaster
I read this was remastered using an algorithm so as a vinyl record there’s certainly a weird contradiction putting anything digital on an analogue format, but hell, it sounds amazing.
