    • Perhaps John Williams' best
I was in to the Harry Potter sequence, Star Wars, ET, Schindler's List -- there are 80 movies that John Williams has done the sound track for. But in reading articles trying to study this success I ran accross one who found this (Hook) to be the best, so I purchased it and gave it a listen. At first I felt the critic was wrong but I gradually came to think it was the nature of the movie that did that. I find the plot to Harry Potter more appealing for some reason. Pan struck me as more childish! So I pulled out the old VHS movie and watched it again for the first time. First time because now I paid strict attention to the music -- a hard task to do since the music tells you in no uncertain terms to pay attention to the plot! "When You're Alone" is now one of my favorites and the rest of the score is too. (I am also old enough and beleive it or not busy enough to take more serious note of the message in the movie -- story -- too. But I will not throw away a perfectly good cell phone. ... show more

Peter Pan is a character who inspires magic and boyhood wonder. "Hook" is such a good movie because it's about Peter re-discovering that wonder. John Williams really takes you there with this soundtrack. The music encapsulates the mood of each scene to perfection.     • Only one thing wrong...
The only reason why I'm giving this four stars is because when it arrived, it had two scratches/cracks on the front and back of the case. But otherwise, I had a good experience with this product. I LOVED having the option to download it before hand so that I can keep it wrapped. This movie and the music are very dear to me and holds many memories and I was hoping to receive it without blemishes, but it's not too big of a deal. ... show more

Who doesn't love the story of Peter Pan? Who doesn't love a somewhat random re-telling of the story with Robin Williams? Who doesn't quote this movie at least once a year? The soundtrack is great because it takes you back to the world of Neverland and the first time you ever saw the film yourself. I bought it as a XMAS present for someone who loved the film, but strangely had never bought the soundtrack. I think it's a great add to any movie soundtrack collection and does well if you ever need to add to your library for soundtrack movies games at family home evenings or something. ... show more

    • Perfect - Exactly as described
The music of Hook is simply amazing to be simple about this. The movie would be nothing without it. I got this in CD format and the quality is astounding. Please.. If you like hook - Get it. It's cheap and will bring you back to your childhood, and in my case, favorite movie of all time. The product itself is exactly as described. What else is there to say? Its Hook. John Williams is a master. How does he manage to write music for so many different kinds of movies, and still come up with creative, original themes that swirl with color and texture? The pirates' theme is hilarious--perfect for the imaginary island of Neverland. You can just picture the swaggering, bumbling pirates tripping all over the place and cheering for their sinister leader, Captain Jas. Hook. The movie is great, too, but it wouldn't be half as good without the creative genius of John Williams behind all the music. ... show more
