This is my first kayak. Have had it for over a year. It is fun and easy to maneuver in the water. It is durable and quick to inflate whether using a hand or electric pump. The backpack has room for additional gear; however, the kayak seems heavier than the stated 23 lbs. Retrospec customer service is excellent! Had an issue with the center floor bladder and with a valve and they replaced both without issue and without charge.

This has been inflated and hanging from the garage ceiling along with the rigid plastic kayaks for 2 months now. It shows no signs of deflating. It's sturdy, has lots of room, and is light enough for me to haul around from truck to shore with no great effort. My only gripe is that I cannot figure out all the air inflation connectors other than the main chambers. I'm sure once I get them right just once, it will seem obvious, but some detailed illustration of how they fit together would have been helpful. The material appears rugged to the touch, and the bottom has a material shield that goes from bow to stern for added puncture protection. Seams are tight, consistent and show no signs of delamination or inconsistency in production.

I was very skeptical because of the price point but was pleasantly surprised. It is sturdy, roomy and comfortable and it took less than 10 minutes to inflate. I wanted an inflatable because I’m not strong enough to lift a kayak onto the top of my car. I feel comfortable taking this one anywhere by myself.

Best inflatable ever! I love it. So easy to store, easy to load in the back of my car, inflate, kayak, deflate when done and cleans up so easily afterwards. Ready to pack up the next day and ready to go for next trip!

Terrible product and terrible customer service. After our second inflation we noticed the kayak seemed lopsided. I opened it up to see what was going on to find a seam had come undone causing the imbalance. I sent pictures to Retrospec thinking they would just send me a new center piece but they punted responsibility to Amazon. Never had a company not want to fix and stand by their product. Find a different kayak!

Love it! Very sturdy, good choice for taking my dog with me. Stays inflated, easy to carry. Love the backpack that the kayak and accessories store in. Also, the attachable fins are wonderful for turning.

If you're debating between a cheaper inflatable kayak and these ones, buy this one! We spent a week camping and kayaking with them and had no issues whatsoever. We did however see others who purchased the cheaper inflatable kayak, the intex challenger, and while sitting in the kayak, it bent into a half moon on the water. Didnt seem very durable. These are super easy and fast to inflate, took less than 10min with the pump that is included. Very easy to maneuver in the water. Only recommendation would be if you're using the paddles included, buy some grippers to attach so they don't slip around when wet.

I bought this kayak because it specifically mentioned that it was well suited to taking a dog with you. Aside from being wider than some others, I don't find it particularly well suited for a dog unless they are small and calm which would work in any kayak. The floor isn't extra reinforced and there really isn't much extra room in the single once you sit in it. I also bought it to kayak less than a mile between the mainland and an island town a little under a mile away, but the water has too many currents to make that possible in in inflatable. Overall this is a nice inflatable kayak , but don't expect it to ride like a hard sided kayak. When I go out with friends in proper kayaks they have a much easier time for half the effort. The kayak easily drifts in currents so you have to work to keep it straight and don't get much thrust per paddle compared to regular kayaks. For toodling around lakes and bays this is perfect though. I find it easy to haul around in its provided backpack and easy to clean. Setup takes me about 10-15 minutes from backpack to ready for the water and roll up a little longer because I have to dump water out and let it dry a little. The fabric cover means it takes a long while to dry so I often put it away wet and then unpack at home or leave the bag open in the car. The seat is comfortable and everything seems durable. My only complaint is that the paddle is too short to make it over the puffy inflatable sides of the kayak so I continually dump water on myself regardless of how I stroke. Totally worth having for summer fun and I am glad I got it even though it doesn't work for taking my dog or longer trips.
