The kayak is very well made and performs well. The fins could be a bit bigger for stability. The pump comes with a guage for proper inflation but I think it should have a better one as the guage isnt stable but over all well worth the money.

This has been inflated and hanging from the garage ceiling along with the rigid plastic kayaks for 2 months now. It shows no signs of deflating. It's sturdy, has lots of room, and is light enough for me to haul around from truck to shore with no great effort. My only gripe is that I cannot figure out all the air inflation connectors other than the main chambers. I'm sure once I get them right just once, it will seem obvious, but some detailed illustration of how they fit together would have been helpful. The material appears rugged to the touch, and the bottom has a material shield that goes from bow to stern for added puncture protection. Seams are tight, consistent and show no signs of delamination or inconsistency in production. ... show more

Terrible product and terrible customer service. After our second inflation we noticed the kayak seemed lopsided. I opened it up to see what was going on to find a seam had come undone causing the imbalance. I sent pictures to Retrospec thinking they would just send me a new center piece but they punted responsibility to Amazon. Never had a company not want to fix and stand by their product. I like the kayak but I have some questions that I have sent to Retrospec. The kayak appears to be well constructed of quality materials but the outer layer on the bottom of the kayak is very loose. I don’t know yet if it by design or it is a flaw in this kayak. It seems that it would glide better on the water if it was taut. I am waiting for an answer from Retrospec. The sides are wide so paddling takes some practice to not rub your knuckles but that could be the operator 😊. The kayak is very stable, not tippy, the seat is comfortable and the overall quality is good The foot brace is too small to be very effective but I think it can be changed out. Retrospec responded and asked for pictures. I inflated the kayak in my living room and these are pictures after inflation. Retrospec said it looks fine. I disagree. This is not like the advertisement pictures of the kayak that show a very taut bottom. I’m debating whether to buy another one to see if it’s better. Sigh. ... show more
