  • The Hardest Part Is Picking a Game
Color: Light White
The first night I connected this console, I probably spent twenty minutes just scrolling through different games because there are so many choices. That’s both the fun part and the slightly overwhelming part of having such a large collection. Once I stopped browsing and actually picked something, the experience was pretty straightforward. The console connected directly to my TV through HDMI and the interface appeared without a complicated setup process. Both wireless controllers paired and worked from across my living room, which means I can sit comfortably on the couch instead of being stuck close to the television like with the old wired controllers. I tried games from several of the available emulator categories and most of what I played ran smoothly. Some menus and game names can be a little confusing, so it takes some exploring to learn where everything is located. The controllers feels lightweight but comfortable enough for the kind of casual gaming I’m doing, and the buttons have responded well so far. I especially appreciate being able to save progress because some older games were not very forgiving about stopping halfway through. Now I can play for a while, save, and come back when I have time. The HDMI picture is clear and stable on my television, though older games naturally still have their original visual style. I havent tried anywhere close to all the included games yet, but finding familiar titles mixed with ones I’ve never played has been half the entertainment. ... show more

  • Forgot How Fun These Old Games Were
Color: Light White
The first night we hooked this up, I kept saying “just one more game” and somehow an hour disappeared. Seeing some of the games I played growing up was probably my favorite part, although my kids couldn’t care less about the nostalgia and immediately started digging through everything to find their own favorites. There are so many choices that we haven’t even come close to checking them all out. Setup was about as simple as I hoped. We connected the stick to the TV through HDMI, powered it up, and started playing without having to download a bunch of stuff first. The picture looks surprisingly good on a newer TV. Obviously these are retro games, but everything comes through clear and looks good on the bigger screen. The two wireless controllers are really convenient. We can sit comfortably across the room instead of pulling chairs closer to the TV, and so far the controls have felt responsive. They’re lightweight and comfortable, even after playing for a while. Having two included also means the kids can start a multiplayer game without arguing over one controller. I’m especially happy that games can be saved. I don’t remember having that luxury with some of these growing up, and I definitely don’t want to replay the same levels from the beginning every time. It’s not something that needs a bunch of setup or explaining—you turn it on, pick something, and play. That simplicity is probably why we keep going back to it. Tons of games, two controllers, and plenty of old-school fun make this little stick well worth it. ... show more

  • Simple to operate, many games available.
Color: Light White
While tidying up my TV cabinet the other day, I came across this game console and thought I'd use it to play with my family in the evenings. Usually, after dinner, everyone's glued to their phones, rarely having the chance to sit down and do something together in the living room. Surprisingly, connecting it to the TV brought everyone together on the sofa. The games don't take long to learn; you can just pick up the controller and start playing. Even family members who don't usually play games quickly got the hang of it. What I like most is the wide variety of games, so I don't have to constantly switch devices. If someone wants an action game, or someone wants a simpler puzzle game, we can just switch to something else. The kids also love choosing games that interest them, and sometimes the whole family takes turns competing to see who can play the longest. Unlike many games nowadays that require a lot of time to learn the rules, playing for twenty minutes or half an hour is just right. The picture is very clear when connected to the TV, and the controls aren't particularly complicated. The first time I used it, it was basically just a matter of following the steps to connect the device, and afterwards, I just turn on the TV whenever I want to play. The console itself is small, so when I'm not using it, I store it next to the TV cabinet, so it doesn't take up much space. This is a really convenient option for people who already have a modern TV at home but occasionally want to play some classic games. ... show more

  • easy to set up
Color: Light White
We set this up in the living room one Saturday afternoon, mostly because I wanted something different from the newer games we usually play. I started scrolling through the game list and kept running into titles and styles I hadn’t seen in years. My son got curious pretty quickly, so we each took a controller and started trying random games together. What made it fun was how simple many of the older games are to understand. I didn’t have to explain a complicated story or a long list of controls. We could pick something, play a few rounds, then move on if we wanted. I showed him the kinds of racing, fighting, and arcade games I used to enjoy when I was younger. He thought some of them looked pretty old-fashioned, but that didn’t stop him from getting competitive with me. I like having two wireless controllers included because this is definitely more entertaining when someone else joins in. The HDMI connection also keeps the setup pretty simple on the TV. With such a large game library, browsing is almost part of the experience. We’ve started picking a few unfamiliar games each time instead of trying to go through everything at once. It has turned into a fun little weekend activity for us. ... show more

  • I enjoy using it
Color: Light White
I picked up this retro game stick because I wanted something simple that the family could plug into the TV and start playing without spending time setting up a complicated gaming system. The setup was quick, and once the HDMI connection was made, I was able to get into the game menu and start looking through the large selection of games. It was fun going through the different categories to see which classic games I remembered from years ago. The controllers connected easily and worked well from the couch, and the wireless range is useful when sitting farther away from the TV. I like being able to play on a large screen because the old-style games look much more enjoyable when they are displayed on the TV instead of a small screen. Another feature I have been using is the save and load function. Being able to save a game and come back to it later is useful when I do not have time to finish a longer game in one sitting. I also like that there are no downloads needed before playing, since the games are already included on the system. ... show more

  • I enjoy the game time
Color: Light White
I set this up because I wanted to revisit some of the games I remembered from when I was younger. I figured I’d play for a little while on my own, but my son saw what I was doing and grabbed the second controller. We ended up sitting there much longer than I expected, taking turns and laughing whenever one of us messed up. The best part for me wasn’t really the number of games. It was showing him the older games I grew up with and explaining how different gaming felt back then. Some of the graphics looked funny to him at first, but after a few rounds he stopped caring and just wanted to beat my score. That was probably my favorite moment. Setup was pretty straightforward on our TV through HDMI. The two wireless controllers are also nice for playing together since we don’t have cables stretched across the room. There are so many games and different systems included that I’m still finding titles I recognize. I thought this would mostly be a nostalgia purchase for me, but it has actually become something my son and I enjoy together. Now every time we turn it on, I usually pick one game from my childhood and let him choose the next one. ... show more

  • Easy Retro Gaming at Home
Color: Light White
This retro gaming stick has been a surprisingly entertaining addition to our family room. I like that the whole setup is small and doesn’t require much space. Once connected to the TV through HDMI, it’s easy to switch over and start looking through the game selection. With so many games and multiple emulator categories included, there’s plenty to explore. Some of the games are familiar, while others were completely new to me. I’ve especially enjoyed playing a few simple games in the evening when I want something more interactive than watching TV. The two wireless controllers are probably my favorite part. Having two available makes it easy to play together instead of taking turns with one controller. The controls feel straightforward, and after a little time getting used to them, I had no trouble navigating the menus. I also appreciate how little room the system takes up. When we’re finished, everything can be put away without leaving a lot of equipment around. Overall, it’s a convenient little setup for casual gaming and a nice way to bring some old-school entertainment into the house. ... show more

  • Came DOA
Color: Deep White
Came DOA. (dead at arrival) . I was very excited for this to come. I have had one before that the micro SD got corrupted. When i plugged it in, the light didn't come on. I tried multiple TVs, and I tried a different cord so it wouldn't be plugged into the usb port on the TV because some doesn't have enough power to put both in the TV. Light still wouldn't turn on. Save your money and try to get a better one. ... show more
