First off, I love the color. And the price wasn’t bad. Having tried out the system for a few weeks now, I can say it works perfectly and the volume control can get very loud. The only issue I notice is that sometimes when I use the on switch, it doesn’t turn on. I don’t know if it’s because I flip it too fast or what, but it hasn’t really been a problem.

It worked for about a day, and when it died it refuses to charge. The charging light flashes for a second, and then turns off while plugged in. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in for 10 minutes and left it charging but the battery is still dead. I ended up replacing the battery, and the gameboy still does not charge. Do not buy from this seller

The game came in really good condition, the battery life is great and I haven’t had any issues with it so far after about 10 hours of play time. Just like the old days! The screen is a bit dim, but it’s not too bad; I’ll probably replace it if/when I’m ready to. That would be my only complaint, and it really isn’t a complaint.

The product arrived on time and well packaged. It was without any visible wear and seemed to be in pretty good shape. I have, however, had issues getting it to charge which is why I am giving 3 stars.. I cannot discern if it is an issue with the charging cable or the game itself. I need to reach out to the seller and see what recourse they may offer. I will update this review accordingly.

The screen on this system is far superior to the original system and it was perfectly restored! Thank you for creating this product, I am amazed that it is possible to get such a beloved system like GBA SP restored like this. I bought it as a gift and she loved the rare color and how the "Renewed" system seemed even better than the original!

Super-fast shipping--which is a plus, however: The charging plug did not fit the unit (nor my older GBASP unit), but this was an easy fix for me since I have an extra working charger. The unit only played for about five minutes out of the box before it died. It charged in about 45 minutes (which had me suspicious of the battery) and then only played for 2 hours before dying. I noticed the battery door was loose and opened it--sure enough, the battery was bloated (refer to photos). Otherwise, it's a solid unit with very few defects and a beautiful new screen--the casing is noticeably different from the original though (it's a little lighter), and the power button is super-loose. Gameplay is otherwise solid, the volume/light work as they should and the directional/selection buttons work as expected. I would have given this four stars if not for the bad battery--that could have gone badly during shipping (those like to explode in the summer months, you know) and bad charger. Update: Ordered a replacement but was sent a unit with the same battery and charger issues. The power button isn't as worryingly loose and the case doesn't feel oddly light. If you get this, have a back up charger and battery. This time I said heck with it and just replaced the battery. It's a little hinky with GBA games--but I think this may have been in part the unit needing a good clean-out. It plays old Gameboy/Gameboy Color games fine.
