  • Favorite Pokemon Version
I've only played up to Emerald, that's about it, but this has to be my favorite version of all time. Leaf Green is the best of both worlds, it takes you back to where it all started with Blue and Red. It has the better graphics, access to new islands and the VS seeker, my favorite item ever. I like the original story from these games and I'm so glad that they were able to remake it into better graphics. I like how they added the islands where you're able to get new generation pokemon. I like how the Elite Four gets new generation pokemon after you visit the islands. VS Seeker is by far my best and most favorite item for two reasons, #1 its a fantastic way to level up your pokemon. #2 is a great way to make money. In Island 5 there are two trainers that give you up to $20,000.00 per battle, if you have the Coin Amulet. Not only are you getting pretty good experience points but you're also getting loads amount of cash. I was able to level up a couple pokemon while gaining the max $999,999.00 so after this I went and spent the money like never before, within the game, of course. I don't know, this game is just awesome. I wish they could release the original Yellow Version in a new graphics version. With the added features that this game has plus what the new generations are offering. ... show more

  • Buyer Warning
The game came looking good but when played acted a bit strange. To start when the game began I would always get a strange advisory that "the save file is ok" which was odd because it seemed like the game was anticipating encountering issues in the future. And no other Pokemon cartridge would give this advisory. I looked past it and continued to play but upon doing so I noticed multiple texture glitches, some being so extreme that I could walk into walls that I shouldn't be able to. Although this was concerning I again looked past it hoping it wouldn't have any effect on the game. The worst scenario that would happen would be the game freezing suddenly and unexpectedly. But I was never worried about it because it was a common issue with other Pokemon games, and it proved to be a simple yet annoying fix. Yet finally my creeping suspicions about this particular cartridges integrity were confirmed when the game froze and once restarted informed me that the game file had been deleted. This was a huge disappointment to me because I had been working on this file for a few days only to have my work and finally blooming team erased. In concluding I wrote this review in order to warn possible buyers of this tragedy and stop this from happening to anyone else, for it is truly a soul crushing loss. ... show more

  • Excited but weary
Review could always change. So far I have a good feeling with this cartridge. It "seems" legit. it plays good. No signs of rom or loading/saving issues so far. so for now I personally would say it's a worth a buy if you don't mind the price. After a bit of time I will do an update if anything goes wrong ... show more

  • Classic
So Pokemon is one of the best games ever and Pokemon Red and Blue are near and dear to my heart. Leaf Green and Fire Red are remakes of the classics and are AMAZING! If you have never played a Pokemon game before then look no further than Leaf Gree (or Fire Red). There is even some added content with some new islands that were not in the original so there is fun with that too as well as the ability to link with Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Plus you can even transfer your Pokemon over to the DS Pokemon games and wreck shop with your beloved starter in Heart Gold, Soul Silver and Platinum. All in all, great game. Plus I've been playing the same game for 15+ years, so it can't be that bad right? ... show more

  • A great RPG for all ages.
I've played all the way through this game and unlocked almost all of it's secrets, but as usual I'm here to clear up the rumors and give you the plain and simple truth. Back in 1999, I played a pokemon game for the first time, that game was "Pokemon blue version" for all of you who didnt already know, "Pokemon leaf green version" is a remake of that title. Of course, it's had quite a few upgrades, but I'll cover that later. Here's the part where I tell you the truths and lies about this game. Firstly, it's true that the legendary pokemon "Deoxys" is in this game, but dont get too excited yet. You cant get to Deoxys unless you've gone to a Nintendo event and had an item called the Aurora ticket uploaded into your game. It's also true that Lugia & Ho-oh are in the game, but they're just like Deoxys... You need a special item to get them too. Now for the lies... Sorry, but you cannot visit Johto or any other region besides Kanto. Also, the pokemon known as Mew & Celebi are not included in the game. This is a great game for all ages, especially RPG maniacs like myself! Do you like games like "Final Fantasy" & "Golden Sun"? Well then, you'll like this game. Good points: Upgraded graphics, more pokemon to catch, an all new set of areas to explore, new attacks to use, pokemon special ablities exsist, (just like in Pokemon Ruby) and the legendary cat pokemon are in this game. Bad points: Although the music has been remixed, it lacks the old-school charm that it once had, there are no pokemon contests in the game, you cannot visit the lands of Johto, Orre, or Hoenn within the game, your rival has been remade and now he looks like a total geek, it never changes from day to night, and lastly... You cannot grow berries in this game. Oh, and one more thing that really urks me... In Pokemon crystal version the pokemon's sprite (image) was animated, and it would move around just like in the 3-D pokemon games, but for some stupid reason... That amazing inovation hasnt been used in any of the newer pokemon games, including this one! Written by: ShadowMage (The game maniac) ... show more

  • Classic Game!
Based on some other reviews I was somewhat worried I may receive a bootleg copy, but thankfully that was not the case. The seller I bought from was CaveGamers, and fulfilled by Amazon. I recommend that seller because the game I received is authentic and functions perfectly. Happy to have this classic in my possession to go along with my Fire Red that I got in 2004! ... show more

  • Paid almost $100 for a pirated copy, sender said my handheld was faulty...
Basically, I bought a copy from a sender that had a 98% approval rate, right? Turns out that doesn't matter. When my package shipped (3 weeks late on top of abysmal shipping rates to Alaska), I fired the game up, and it showed the stereotypical signs of a pirated version (added text on the file select screen, overall slowness in the game, the game actually freezing when I try to save, lots of stuff like that). I compared the cartridge to another gba game, and the leafgreen had a slightly larger casing, the text was a different font, and it had a very blurry official nintendo seal of approval on it. When I called the sender out on it, they replied with the typical "our product is always perfect" bull, and said it was probably my handheld acting faulty, even though I tested it on 3 different gba's and 2 ds's. Pretty much they rejected my refund ticket and I'm out about $100 with really nothing to gain ... show more

  • I couldn't be any happier.
Been wanting to get Leaf Green since it was a new game, but never got the opportunity to, until now. I checked the game cart and it is an authentic copy. I couldn't be any happier. Plays like a charm and I can trade over to my Ruby version.
