RetraStrap earned its keep on our recent European cruise, most notably when we arrived in Rome at Fiumicino International Airport. My wife uses a wheelchair, so we knew that juggling 2 rolling bags (the one pulled by RetraStrap weighed about 35 lb) and 2 small carry-ons would be a challenge. Thankfully, we had passenger and staff assistance all along the way--except we were informed there would be a wait at the Rome airport for someone to wheel my wife from baggage claim to our waiting driver, just a short distance away through some pneumatic doors. We were tired after 11 hours on the plane, so the Retrastrap helped us get to our hotel faster by doing its job: I fastened it diagonally across my chest, then attached it to the rolling bag's handle corner as shown in the instructions. This left my hands free to push my wife's travel wheelchair. With one carry-on on the back of the wheelchair, one in my wife's lap, and a small, 4-wheel spinner suitcase guided next to the wheelchair by my wife, we made our transfer without assistance. So glad we bought the RetraStrap!

I love this product. It’s easy to install onto luggage and really does the job of making your luggage follow you. Thought it would feel weird having my bag rolling behind me, but once I gave it a try I was quite surprised at how natural it actually feels. After using it for a couple of minutes, I felt confident it was doing its job. The strap is retractable, which is nice because no other products for this problem do. Some of the other ones I’ve seen are just straps that hang off of your bag, and are a pain to deal with when trying to place your bag in the overhead compartment of an airplane. I will be buying this product for family members too, because I know they will love it.

I had never heard of this little gadget until I was trying to figure out how to function while living alone and being non-weight bearing on a broken ankle requiring crutches. I read about it on a discussion board where people were talking about how to grocery shop on crutches since you can’t use your hands while walking. Somebody mentioned the retrastrap and I looked it up. This item had a video of someone using it on crutches so I thought I would give it a try. BTW, In the photo I have posted it isn’t adjusted quite right. I adjusted it prior to loading my trolley dolly (also ordered on this site), so when I placed weight on it the retractable strap extended farther than intended - but it still worked! I was able to pull a loaded cart to the car (over a pea gravel path even)! Even though the product says it is for use only on level ground, I had to pull it up a slightly inclined (10° to 15° ) sidewalk about 15 feet in length and it still worked just fine.

Like one of the previous reviewers, we ordered this to help with traveling for two with a wheelchair (gate checked) . My husband was able to wear his backpack ( his personal item) and pull his carryon pilot case behind him while pushing me. I put my backpack on the wheelchair handles and placed my carry on duffle on my lap. Perfect. The strap was durable, easy to use, comfortable and did surprisingly well going in and out of elevators. I could see this being handy for parents with strollers too! Definitely recommend if you want your hands free!

The concept looks good and might work okay with light luggage. A brief walk around the house made me realize I was not going to be happy after long walks in the airports. It is very light in construction and doesn't seem as though it will hold up for a frequent flyer like myself. I also did not appreciate the enclosed card offering $5 back for a 5 star feedback. Not a good business practice in my opinion. A good product will speak for itself.

After reading hte instructions and setting it right, I am really looking forward to using it on the trip! Nothing worse them running through the airport with multiple luggage items and try to hold the documents and tickets and a cup of coffee.
