Added 3 stars for amazing customer service! I would not use these in the ocean, would be ok for catching small fish in a lake or catching butterflies. I bought three of these, one for each of my kids, to take to the beach. I kept the handles on the shortest setting, hoping they wouldn’t break like they had for some other people. Within 30 mins of trying to catch some small fish (right off shore in calm water) 2 out of 3 handles snapped. The kids were bummed they couldn’t use them anymore (sharp edges!) and I was bummed about the wasted money! ... show more

Update 4/13/2023: We caught three large male muscovy ducks. The nets held them firmly until we could get our hands on them. The nets did not get damaged. The flexible part of the frame held. I am impressed, and the nets have already paid for themselves! I went on vacation for two weeks and left someone in charge of caring for my animals. When I came home, the ducks and rabbits were all out. Being in my mid-50s and slower than I was in my 20s, I am having trouble catching a few stragglers. I purchased two of these "Style A" nets to help me catch them. The nets are lightweight and easy to fold to full size. It's easy to figure out how to unfold/open/extend it. Look closely at the picture of the net frame. The black piece is a piece of black rubber-like tubing that is attached to the metal. There is no metal under the black tubing, so that area has a lot of give. This may or may not work for some uses, so I wanted to point that out to other customers. The catch that holds the net frame in the open position is on a spring. You pull it down with your thumb to release the net frame and fold the next back down. ... show more
