  • Keeps down flies in my barn
Third time ordering this product. Use in barn with horses. Really does a good job of attracting flies. Bad part is it stinks but that is what attracts the flies

  • Oh my gawd
We had a laugh reading Zane Cuthill’s review when we ordered these, what a funny guy…couldn’t be that bad could it? After a day we had a few flies in there and we were very excited. By the next day though word about the hottest new Fly Club in town had evidently spread and, well, they were pushing and shoving to get in. My wife wasn’t able to sleep that night. I was praying that God is not a fly lover because if he/she is I am going to Hell on the Express train. This bag probably holds 100,000 flies who don’t fly in and die peacefully. Remember the GoT Jon Snow Battle of the Bastards? This is worse. Way worse. Way way worse. The product works. It’s Amazing. Whoever made this is a genius. Buy this, BUT DON’T LOOK INSIDE OF IT AND DON’T BREATHE IN TOO DEEPLY. ... show more

  • Great for catching a lot of flies
I purchased these fly traps because we live in a rural area with lots of horses and other livestock around. Naturally, we have a lot of flies coming in the house at certain times of the year. I was curious to see if these traps would make a difference, and I think they have definitely reduced the number of flies in the immediate vicinity of the house. I hung 5 of the 6 within 50 feet of our house. They were easy to fill and hang, and I chose places where the trap was not sitting in direct sun, nor overly obscured by branches. I should also add that I am an entomologist and have worked with lots of different trapping methods for insects, so I was really curious to see how these would work. The product states which types of flies it will attract, and they are all species that are drawn to manure, food, or decomposing matter. So, these traps won't do anything to help my horses. And yes, they are a little stinky, but you only catch a whiff if you are within 5-6 feet. Once hung, my kids and I watched them for an hour to see if any flies came it, and we did not have to wait long. Immediately, flies began buzzing around the traps, and within 10 minutes, there were at least 50 flies in some of them. It was impressive to see. They have been hung for 2 weeks now, and there are SO MANY flies in all of the traps. The coolest thing is that the one trap I placed about 100 yds away from the house out in the horse pasture. One day I saw a turkey vulture walking around underneath it in search of whatever was giving off the decaying smell. To address the primary reason for using the traps, which was reducing flies in the house, I have not seen any flies inside in the last two weeks. I don't know if it's just because of the traps, or we've just kept the doors closed, but I would definitely recommend using these, if only to see the traps in action! ... show more

  • Only one that works
It would be nice if these came with a small wire twist tie. We usually use twine which is kind of hard to feed through the hole sometimes.

  • The ones that work!
The flies have been awful this year. The bags are filling up fast. Ewwww But at least they're in the bags and not on the animals

  • FREAKING RAD on keeping flies down...but don't look inside unless you want to have nightmares...
I've been using these things for a while now and they work great for me. I live in northeastern california. Hot and dry summer climate. When the water gets low later in the summer is when the flies tend to get bad. I also live next to a creek so that doesnt help. I hang these, one at a time, on my shed, a good ways away from my house. The smell these things put off is horrid but only from short distances. The flies are not drawn to the trap immediately. It takes a day or two. Hot, dry, stagnant air seems to draw them in better for some reason. I made the mistake of taking a peek inside to see how many flies might have "lost their way." To my horror I not only found seemingly hundreds of dead or dying flies mounded on top of each other in the gross smelling liquid...but maggots feeding on the dead, dying and decaying. I would rather watch an episode of tele-tubbies with my eye lids pried open with those weird eye things from Clock-Work Orange rather than see a second of what I saw happening in that bag...my advice...set the thing out, leave it until it's full, then throw it away. Your life will be void of flies and nightmares that may haunt you for the rest of your life. ... show more
