I bought this umbrella 3.5 years ago and have absolutely loved it. It’s easy to bring with me wherever and the auto open and close feature is awesome for when you might be carrying something in your hand. It’s held up great to the wind in Boston and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been so happy about an umbrella purchase. However, today I noticed that a piece near one of the joints has broken. In theory, it seems like the umbrella still opens and closes fine, but I don’t know how long that would last. I don’t know if the company has any kind of warranty for this kind of thing, but I can’t figure out how to contact them anyway (contact seller isn’t an option when I pull up my order). If I was able to contact them and they had a warranty, I’d be leaving a 5-star review, but I’m docking them a star. ... show more

I needed a new umbrella and this one was too fun to pass up. I love the push open and closed. Closing takes practice because all the water on the umbrella flings off when you close it so fast. You have to aim it just right. I got mine and it sat for a while. I don't live in a rainy climate. So when we had some rain in the forecast I ordered a second one for my son. He chose black. I now own two. These are shallow umbrellas. They're not deep when open. I like that so I'm not carrying a giant umbrella around in my bag. This allows it to fold up small. However, during the second use of my umbrella, a small gust of wind blew and it broke one of my spokes. So I'm here to see just how good this lifetime warranty is. Specifically, they don’t really collapse inward during high winds which is impressive. They keep you really dry for the small size. You can buy a cheap umbrella and have it break the first time it's used on a windy, rainy day. Or you can pay more and get a good, quality umbrella that you'll probably lose before you break it. Repel umbrellas are well made, have a design that prevents it blowing inside out in heavy winds and just works. And they're small enough to fit in a small backpack. This order was my second and was a gift for a relative traveling to Ireland. The Repel umbrella checks all the boxes--small, sturdy, easy to open and close, durable, well made. So far this umbrella has held up great to several crazy snowstorms, windy thunderstorms, and regular rainstorms. I like the size - perfect for putting in a bag or a backpack - and it's surprisingly sturdy for the size. I also like the auto-open and -close function. So far no leaks, in about 4-5 months of use, and the ribs seem like they'll hold up for quite a while. It opens out fairly large for how small it packs, as well. We have purchased several of these over the years. They're really great: compact but very sturdy. Absolutely love the product. However, I never wrote a review (because I just don't normally review things). But after about 5-6 years, one of our umbrellas had a support break. Honestly, it's crazy to think a 20-25 dollar umbrella would last half a decade, but within 24 hours they'd shipped a replacement. I really can't even believe how much they stand by their products. Usually you can't even get a company to reply if your item breaks outside the 30-day return window. Super happy customer and now I'm just looking for an excuse to buy more umbrellas. :) ... show more
