  • Solid 2000W output and includes correct sized cables. Renogy is great quality.
Size: 12V 2KW
I just upgraded from a 1000W Renogy inverter to a 2000W to provide adequate power to run a microwave oven in my RV. This fit in perfectly with just enough heavy gauge wire to reach my battery about 3' away. It is nice to see an inverter supplier actually provide the correct size SINGLE cables to power the inverter. It runs my microwave fine even though it draws 1900W or 149A at 12V. My 1000W inverter would not quite run a 1000W load continuously so it was nice to see this one meets its rating and even a tiny bit more before it shutdown. ... show more

  • Used the 3000w version for a year with no issues... Lucky?
Size: 3000W
Must have been one of the lucky ones that purchased the 3000w inverter and had absolutely no issues. Wired into a camper van directly to the 170ah lithium battery also made by renogy. I have been using it for over a year now with no issues. My largest draw is the keurig @1800w and has no issues. Something to note.. If it is cold, the inverter would shut down when trying to use my keurig, but this was because lithium output just isn't all that great in the cold and will not deliver the power like it would in 50+ degree weather. Just a little something to throw out there. It has been good to me and glad I got it. ... show more

  • Never Worked
Size: 3000W
Inverter is easy to install. I added a 30 amp fuse on the + between the unit and the battery for added protection. I have the inverter connected to a 120v junction box with breakers. The unit in the photo is a different manufacturer as the Renogy 3000W unit tripped out every time I plugged it into the 120v box with NO load - breakers off. Amazon Customer service was superb as they rushed me a replacement Renogy 3000 at no cost as the first unit never worked. Unfortunately, the second unit did not work as well. The Renogy unit can be wired directly to the 120v box. I tried that and it did not work. I tested the 120v box with a 2000w generator and ran a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker at the same time with no problem. Strangely, these appliances RAN using the Renogy 3000 when plugged in DIRECTLY to the unit - bypassing the 120v breaker box. The Renogy just would not work when plugging it into the breaker box. I returned both units To Amazon and bought another unit from a different manufacturer and it works just fine with my simple wiring configuration. So, it was not the dumb installer (me), but a bad product. I own a Renogy 800w solar system that charges the batteries (photo attached). This is a quality system with a really good controller and functions extremely well. However, this 3000w inverter is another story. Finally, the customer service at Renogy is extremely poor. My solar system arrived with NO instructions! They do this on purpose saying it is a “green” practice. I found a wiring diagram that was a big help on the Amazon website. Since you cannot call Renogy, I emailed them about my inverter issue and received a computer generated response with a reference number stating that a customer service rep will get back to me within 24-48 hours. It’s been almost a month with no response. In sum, buy a Renogy solar panel system but skip the inverter. And don’t expect any help from Renogy customer service. ... show more

  • First unit defective. Tech support non-existent. Replacement unit good
Size: 3000W
This review is for the 3000 watt Pure Sine Wave inverter by Renogy. The first unit I received had nuisance ground faults. The inverter would run for a few minutes and then shut off with the orange "GF" light illuminated. I am 100% sure there were no ground faults because all of my inverters have GF protection and ONLY this one particular unit had this problem while installed in the exact same configuration with the same equipment. I tried emailing Renogy tech support. No response. I tried posting on their support forum. No response. I called them. After a long hold time they told me to email them a video of the orange light coming on (?) I boxed the unit it up and returned it to Amazon for replacement. Received replacement unit and installed it exactly like the previous one... and it works great! The replacement unit has been working VERY well. It is quiet, the fans rarely come on, it runs cool, and here's the best part: IT IS THE ONLY INVERTER I'VE EVER OWNED THAT STARTS AND RUNS MY WELL PUMP. Even a 4000/8000 watt Kreiger unit I have wont do that. This unit does it without complaining, and the fans didn't even kick on, though our pump doesn't have long run cycles. It's only been a few weeks, however if this inverter runs a few years like it has been I will be pleased. One design flaw of this unit is that the terminal for the hardwire is inadequate for the size of copper wire 3000 watts might use. It can accept #14 wire with no problem, #12 is difficult, #10 is not possible. Exactly 30 days after I sent my original tech support email to Renogy I received this response: From: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, April 17, 2019 7:19 AM To:(my private email address) Subject: Re: Issue with Renogy 3000 watt PSW inverter - I would like to apologize on behalf of Renogy, I noticed your email went unanswered, Were you still needed assistance? So.... their definition of "tech support" is to wait 30 days, and then ask if you still have the question. If I had said yes, your product still doesn't work, would they just repeat this scenario until the clock runs out on the warranty? First product: bad. Second product: good. Tech support: 100% ABSENT. In case you were wondering: the description says it comes with 4AWG cables in the graphic, and the text says CABLES NOT INCLUDED. Just to clarify, the 3000 watt model does NOT come with cables. 3000 watts would require two sets of 4AWG cables, I do not believe one set of 0AWG would be adequate if you were planning to use this inverter near it's rated capacity. So plan on that extra expense when purchasing this inverter (two pairs of 4AWG cables). I would keep the cable run as short as possible. Under 3 feet, 2 feet would be better. ... show more
