I love this thing. The eyes that light up on either side of the shark's head are a lovely touch. The thing moves really well in the water and the remote control works smoothly. I'm not sure real sharks spend much time backing up, but this one is capable of moving backwards and forwards, left and right, really well. I didn't have much luck with the full speed forward, but I think that's because my pool jets were working with the pump and filter on, so the "current" that they provided was challenging for the little shark. I just alternated left and right and it actually made for a really nice shark motion. I confess that I haven't used dive much yet, because I didn't want to have to jump in the pool to retrieve it in case it was reluctant to surface. It's been a bit too cold to enjoy going down to get it. But I started a bit of a dive and that seemed to work well, too. This is really fun to use. I don't think it would be particularly durable. The controller could be broken if you were too rough with the little joysticks, so age 6 and up is probably a good guide. But if you have a thoughtful and gentle child younger than that it would probably be fine as well. It comes with a spare battery, so if it runs down you can pop the other one in. You need a small phillips screw driver (included) to remove the battery cover, so it's a little more elaborate than some battery compartments. But that's necessary because there is a gasket that keeps that compartment water tight that has to be snugged down. The shark itself is also a bit delicate, I think. But understanding that it takes a bit of care and can't just be tossed around will keep it going for quite a while, I think. It also comes with two spare propellers. For as tiny as they are, they really push this thing along; certainly at a speed that is appropriate to the scale of it. Watching the demo mode put it through its paces shows you what it can do, and it's really impressive. So far this has been a very entertaining little device!

This remote-controlled shark is absolutely awesome! From the moment we took it out of the box, it was an instant hit in our house. Our 6-year-old is completely obsessed with it—so much so that he now begs to take a bath just so he can play with his new favorite toy. Got this for my shark obsessed nephew for his 4th birthday and it was a big hit! It seems to work great, my only complaint is that the battery doesn’t last as long as I would hope. It’s easy to use and we enjoyed it!

This RC Shark Toy is the bomb! Got it for my nephew’s 6th birthday, and it’s been a hit in the bathtub and our community pool. The blue shark looks so real with its bendy tail and glowing lights, and it swims like a champ with the 2.4GHz remote. You can make it dive, turn, or spray water, which is hilarious for the kids. This thing is sooooo cool you wont believe how much fun the kids will have with it. The remote control allows it to swim at various depths and even edge the waters surface like a real shark. The bright red eyes will make it easy to see in the water and adds a really cool touch to the great design. This is a great gift for any kid that likes to play in the pool.

It's bigger than I was expecting once I attached the tail to the body, so that surprised me. So far we've been playing with it in the pool. The kids and I have been having fun with it. No worries with the battery compartment leaking. We like to fish, so that's the real reason why I got this. I think it would be fun to get a water level view while fishing. I am hoping to catch salmon swimming up stream. I don't know how much current this shark toy can handle, but we'll find out. But, the toy itself works great. It comes with two batteries that charge rather quickly - maybe 20-30 minutes. Easy to control with the hand held controller. Just a fun toy. The kids enjoy it so far.
