The box and packaging are attractive and will make a great first impression when opened as a gift. The lettering and graphics are raised and the car pictured is impressive, but what really matters is what is inside. My husband opened the box and the first thing he said as he lifted it out was, "Babe, this thing is quality." Like a kid himself, he had me feel the weight of the car and began to show me the springs on the shocks, the rubber wheels and went on about how it didn't feel cheap. On the top of the car there are four little tabs connected to cotter pins that hold on the body. "That is what they use on high-end R.C cars," and then it was on. Everything seemed to impress him. Inside the box there is a little package with a tool to change out parts and modify the truck. There are also extra cotter pins and a very detailed diagram of the car with every part labled to show where it goes on the truck. "This is a hobby truck for kids," my husband went on to say, and began to read over the booklet before informing me of the extra battery. Just under the truck is the remote control. Three AA batteries are included. The remote is made of a plastic that is light weight for kids. The form and function of the remote is great. On the top of the remote are fine tuning dials for right and left turing, and then speed. Once the car was turned on, we placed it on the floor and found out quickly that the speed dial comes in handy for indoors. This car goes fast on hard floors! Unless you have a very large room or hallway, you may want to dial it down. Or, if you are like my husband, pull off some pretty awesome doughnuts. Finally my husband let my 10-year-old daughter take a turn at it. It was her first time to use a remote that is a trigger and wheel style. To make the truck go forward the trigger is squeezed. To make it go backwards the trigger is pushed forward. It only took her a couple of minutes and she was running it like she had used it for weeks. We had fun with it outside. Among its impressive features is that this truck is all-wheel-drive. Couple this with its powerful motor, it has no problem running on grass and rocks. However, the thing that impressed us the most was range. There are no visable antennas, but it went all the way down the street and then some. We were so impressed we actually took out the measuring wheel and walked the distance of 1,500 feet! It may have gone further if we could see it after turning down another street. This truck will have your children telling their children, "They don't make them like they use to." This truck will make a great Christmas or birthday present. From what we have experienced, it is a good entry truck for children who may want to pursue an RC hobby. Or, for a husband who still loves the adventures of remote cars. As for durability, it has handled all we have thrown at it so far. The parts on the truck are solid and we don't forsee any real issues in the future.

I am very happy with the quality of this RC car. I bought it as a trainer for my 5yo daughter and the adjustable speed is perfect because I can slow it down until she gets used to the controls. With the speed turned up my 13yo son loves it too! I highly recommend this car for both the quality and the price.

We ordered three different remote control cars and this one was by far the best. It could easily go through a variety of terrain that did not hold it up. After our boys played with them, this truck was the one everyone wanted to use. It was quick, responded well, and had no issues. It clearly showed some extra toughness when our large dog tried to stop it and rolled on it without hurting it. My husband is really impressed by how the parts on this truck can all be replaced. I was quite surprised that the battery life lasted a long time. We have bought many remote controls through the years and really love this one. I highly recommend it.

I bought this for my 9 year old who was interested in RC cars. After buying one that was cheaper at a retail store, and having a break after a day, we decided to give this one a try. It is a great little car and he loves it.

So if you've read the other reviews, there's a few out there that detail the ooo and aaaah of the packaging and all that dribble. I'm skipping that. This is a review on the performance I experienced when I tried it out. For that info, read on.. Even though I bought this not for a child, but a dog, I figured it'd be fast enough to keep my gud boi exercised since that's all he'll run for. On hard surfaces it'll scoot around. I'd say around 20-25mph tops (full charge). On grassy areas with around 2" of grass, maybe 4mph. And steering goes out the window on the grass. The 4wd is pointless on the grass, it doesn't help. On hard surfaces it actually handicaps the turn, and you can't get tight turns because of it. This isn't necessarily a deal breaker, as I figured i'd have the 2 battery packs to get him wore out before the batteries died. Guess I was mistaken. The first battery pack was switched out in 10 minutes of running it at full speed in straight lines at around 50ft +/- distances. After the 1st battery pack was changed out, I switched to the grassy area. Batteries lasted about the same amount of time, and I did less in the grass, but still had it at full throttle. It just doesn't have the oomph to get through grass as well as I thought it would. So, battery life isn't what they advertised. If you still want this, i'd suggest buying at least 2 more packs to compensate for loss of time. In the end, I wore out my pup, just as both battery packs wore out. However, what am I to do with the other 6 dogs waiting in line? Sigh.... If you get this, get it for a 6yr-ish old child. They'll have fun with it. Older kids will bore quickly due to battery issues. Will I buy another? Nah, I have this one. I'll just buy more rechargable battery packs for it til they tear it up. THEN, I might decide on another purchase. Till then, buy with confidence!

The car is as advertised, and now that I don't have a defective one, I am very happy with the purchase. My first one worked for a day or so, then it wouldn't stay connected to the controller. I contacted the seller, Frank Home, and we went through some quick troubleshooting steps. When those didn't resolve the issue I had a replacement in my hands in just a few days. Things are going to go wrong, and it is how you handle it when they do that count, and in this case, Frank Home hit it out of the park.
