  • This works really well!
This was really easy to install with the included instructions. I feel a bit better when I leave the car now. The key fob has a solid construction as well.

  • Works great, install not too bad
Bought this product because a similar product from a different vendor wouldn't pass enough cranking amps to start the car. This product however, works great! Rain or shine, hot or cold, my car starts right up after turning on the remote, everytime! Install was a little tricky because it was unclear which side of the device the battery connections should be made. But looking at the picture on here that showed the wiring, it was clear that when looking at the switch from the front, the right side connects to the negative pole on the battery and the left side gets the negative wire from the car. It comes with a battery post for ease of hookup. Once it was clear what goes where, it was a 10 minute hookup. The thin red and black wires power the remote receiver and should always goto to the positive and negative battery poles, respectively. The remotes are pre-programmed and ready to go. Some caveats to consider when using a cut off switch: Unless you know what you are doing and why, this switch should be connected to the negative side of the battery for safety. If you connect it to the positive side of the battery and get into an accident, the switch contacts could touch the frame of the car ( which is ground / negative) and cause sparks and fire. Connecting to the negative side helps avoid this. California driver's have to worry about having their cars smog checked. Cars have a self diagnostic test for emissions and everytime you disconnect the battery, it clears all the self tests. It takes a few DAYS of driving for the car to complete the tests. If the computer has not completed the self tests, the official smog test will automatically fail. So California users must keep the battery connected without turning it off for several days before a smog test. All that said, I'm very happy with this switch and it does what I expected it to, very well. I hope the details in this post helps future buyers. ... show more

  • Didn’t work!
As i was putting it together, i noticed a small amount of smoke coming from it. It was hooked up correctly. I checked it multiple times. Never worked. I took it all off, and it’s now sitting on my workbench. Hoping to return it soon.

  • It works well
It works well. It turns on and of like it's supposed to. It says not to operate it while the engine is running but just out of curiosity with the engine idling I tried to see if it would work and it does not. It must have some sort of a voltage sensor in it that won't allow it to open the contacts if the voltage is over 13. I don't know if this was intentional but it is definitely a good safety feature. ... show more

  • Lifesaver
My ar has a ghost in the machine and a parasitic draw discharges the battery if it sits for a while. The battery compartment is against the firewall and there's very limited space. This was the easiest solution and it works. Keep in mind that I have a size 49 battery and the wire to power the receiver and relay was about a foot too short. Easily remedied with a piece of wire, solder, and heatshrink. ... show more

  • Works as advertised
This was easy to assemble and install. I just watched a YouTube video and everything went smoothly. Only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the clamp was a bit loose on the negative terminal. It works well and will keep the thieves from easily stealing my Kia.

  • I got a good one, and it works well
Currently using this to buy some time on a car with a voltage leak. This is a great little remote device, and could also be used to remote switch on aux lights or other things that have a high amp load. For now, I connected this up to the (-) post on the battery. The connect up is simple as simple can get. The included kit has everything you need to get going - though you can add your own connect-ups if you are handy with wiring. The remotes are sturdy and solid. If you use these operating a car, hide them away from curious girlfriends or brainless kids who might push the "off" button while you are driving. That could be a deadly day if that accident happens. I received a good example, and it works as advertised. I will see how it goes in the long-run while used inside the engine compartment. I may want to buy another to use with aux lights so I don't have to loom wires to a switch in the cabin.**(UPDATE -->) So far, solid, but I left the remote inside the car during snow weather and "OFF" button didn't work. Uh oh. Held the remote in my hand to warm it up, pressed the button a few times and began to work. Perhaps a thermal flaw in the button, but overall, the unit is working solid. ... show more
