If you’re into mycology, and are growing your fungi in bulk, these grow bags are an absolute must. I have put them into my pressure cooker in order to sterilize large bags of millet. The bags can handle the pressure and heat with no problem, and it’s great that they already have a small filter at the top. Each bag holds over 2 quarts of millet easily with plenty of room to spare, so they are perfect for growing medium to extra large size totes of mushrooms. These are must have in a mycology lab.

This review is for REMIAWY Mushroom Grow Bags, 55 Pack Extra Thick 6 Mil. I just ran one through the pressure cooker today to test it before doing a bigger batch. They are nice and thick, I like that the filter patch is closer to the top. They performed well doing 2.5 hours in the pressure cooker, no melting or warping and they sealed beautifully. At the time of this review the price is $28.99 for 55 and has a $5 off coupon, which is just about average for this quality and count. I'm looking forward to prepping more bags! If you don't hear from me again it's safe to assume everything has gone well with the rest of the package.

My family loves oyster mushrooms and my daughter and I started experimenting with growing our own. It has been a fun science experiment and we love watching them go from spawn to fruit. I initially started using mason jars for the grain spawn. This has worked great, but I hate storing and cleaning the jars. These bags are so much easier and take up much less space. I have run a couple of these through the pressure cooker, and they have held up fine. I think I'll be using these from now on. I can just cut the top off the bag and let the mushrooms grow right out of the bag. Two thumbs up!
