I assembled and discovered the shelves were visibly crooked. Undid, reassembled, this time with a yardstick measuring the distances between the four clips before sliding the shelf on, and then checking the shelf with a level. This took more than ten minutes, maybe 30 minutes total. I will be using the shelf to store household items, and it looks sturdy enough for that. For really heavy items, I can't say. ... show more

We were looking for a tall sturdy shelf for our pantry. We had a smaller, wooden one that wasn't sturdy and blocked a lot of light. This new shelf met and exceeded our expectations. The shelf looks great and is extremely sturdy. We placed food items on the top two shelves and heavier KitchenAid appliances on the lower ones. The shelves felt sturdy, but weren't too heavy once put together. I had seen a review that said they would only take about 10 minutes to put together, but it took me about three times that long. I think I'd do better the second time around. The instructions concerning placement of the shelves could have been more clear.
