This is a pretty nice shelf and looks good in our pantry. Putting it together was a little weird/frustrating. There were these little plastic pieces that basically wedge themselves between the poles and the loops where the shelves slide on, and half the time when you pushed the shelf down onto the pole, the plastic pieces would go flying and you'd have to start over. We love this shelf! It's sturdy and perfect size for our small apartment. It was simple to put together and it's not too heavy. We don't have any complaints after having used it for half a year now. I almost returned it, for lack of sturdiness, I couldn't make the shelves stay put, they were falling with barely any weight. I was like, "I have no time for this s#^%", but it was totally my fault, funny enough, I figured it out by accident when I was dismounting the last shelve. It turned out these shelves are actually awesome, they hold a great amount of weight and they are pretty sturdy. The price is right! I'm glad I got to keep them, I saved a lot of time and work by not having to return them and look for another solution. They resolved my problem as they are very practical, no need for drilling and I can move them around inside the closet. My only draw back (not manufactures problem) is that I didn't need the very first shelve, the one close to the floor so I wanted to use it at the top but I was short 4 legs (sticks), in other word I have an extra shelve that I can't use : ((( ... show more

Gotta say the negative comments almost deterred me but the dimensions were perfect for what I needed. I had built something similar for a closet so I was familiar with how to assemble it. But the directions are very obvious and the parts fit together fine. It was easy. I started from the bottom shelf by shelf to get clamps even, if you do that you can still adjust shelves as needed. Glad they gave extra clamps bc my 2 yo ran away with one. Sturdy enough for what You should expect from a wire shelf. I wouldn’t put heavy or breakable items on this but that is obvious. Going to replace the screw feet with casters ... show more

This shelf system has the look of the very sturdy and strong ones you see holding the merchandise in some stores; but there the similarity ends. It's made from lighter metals and hasn't the same sort of strength and rigidity. After seeing the photos of this more than four foot tall item, I was surprised when it showed up in a shipping carton maybe 18 or 20 inches long. Those long tubular corner posts are not all in one piece; each one is in four separate pieces about 13 or 14 inches long that must be joined together to make up the full height. Three joints to make up each upright pole. The joints are just loose fitting enough so that each one has a little wiggle room. That wiggle adds up: three wiggle places, one after the other, along the length of the pole. Partly owing to that, and, I suppose, some flexibility of the thin aluminum pipe walls, the completed tower is anything but rigid. It wiggles in response to light touch. It wiggles and deflects from side to side and from front to back; it twists and flexes. Things get a little better when you load some weight into it. That steadies it a bit. Nothing remarkable, but it makes a difference. Don't get any ideas about picking it up to reposition it after assembling. Remember those slip joints that slip together to make up the full height? They don't just slip together; they just as easily slip back apart. So don't bother trying to lift it from the top when you want to see how it looks against that other wall. You will get a handful of the top shelf only (or the top two shelves, if you try to lift it by the one just below the top shelf). Of course, you could lift and carry it from the very bottom, but that might be a bit of a balancing challenge. Best to assemble it where you want it. So am I returning it? No, I'm keeping it. With all its faults, it's a pretty decent little set of shelves, not quite like any other. I wouldn't store any 10 or 15 pound exercise weights in it--it's too flimsy for that. But for copy paper or boxes of those Keurig coffee things or tea, etc. it's OK, and I don't see anything else around to take its place. ... show more
