Fridge door won’t stay closed when I have milk in it. Bought this, and although it came with absolutely no instructions, applied it. First, the cable stretched or became less stiff or something, because within a few days I noticed it was loose and not holding the door all the way closed. I tried to move one of the ends but then it would never stick properly again. Then one day, the magnetic key fell off its little home on the wall and smashed on the floor. The magnet part rolled away under the fridge and no one can reach it.

It keeps my 2 year old out of the fridge, while still allowing access for my older 2 kids. This is my 2nd one, we moved and I left the first one behind. The first one I could put the magnet on and the lock would slip right out. This one I have to wiggle it to get the lock out, which annoyed me at first but now I don't mind it. It actually turned out to be a good thing because my older 2 will leave the magnet on top of the lock sometimes and with the old one my 2 year old could slip the lock right out but now she can't do that. I gave it 4 stars for easy to use because it did take me a few times to figure out I had to jiggle it out and I'm not 100% sure it's supposed to work that way because the first one I had slipped right out. One more thing: if you lose your magnetic key, a strong fridge magnet will work! I only have one fridge magnet that will work on it but it has been a life saver a few times.

This summer had been rough with every single neighbor kids in my house. They are constantly eating 900 Popsicles, string cheese, drinks and I'm tired of it. AND they leave the freezer door open. Sooooo I think I'm kind of a genius! I angled this one lock to cover all three doors. Keep in mind my kids are 6 and 9 if they wanted to get in bad enough they could. I'm a little worried about the stickiness they couple times I tried it came off because it's not very sticky. But hopefully it's enough of a deterren to keep neighbors out.

I have used a LOT of baby proofing product, none match the quality of these. They work perfect. I have 3 (just ordered a fourth). One on my refrigerator (side by side) going across the 2 doors. My toddlers can’t open the fridge at all. Another is on my trash can. (Top lid from lid to side). And the last on a front open oven (from top front to door). They all work perfectly and easily. They hold strong (my almost 4 year old boy tests them on a daily basis).

Great quality product. But The 3m sticky pads did not hold long and started moving within a week. Already having to replace on of the grip pads.

I’d like to say this was a preventative measure, but the amount of yogurt I’ve had to mop up and the number of tubs of margarine with finger marks in them that I’ve had determine that that is a lie. I have a two-year-old daughter whom I’ve lovingly nicknamed Dr. Destructo, and she really likes things...any things she can get her little hands on is what she likes. If said things can be dumped out or rubbed on TV screens, she LOVES those things. Following an incident involving an impromptu nap, several hundred dollars’ worth of electronics, and a paste principally comprised of non-dairy creamer and Caesar dressing, I was left with the dilemma of whether to tie her feet together or purchase a product. Being reasonable enough, I opted for the second one (she would’ve wriggled out of any given restraints, anyway). I made a small investment in this locking mechanism, had it here the following business day, and now feel that these should be standard equipment for all refrigerators. The Doc can no longer inflict her unique brand of bitty chaos on all our chilled goods. Fantastic.

We bought this to stop our 1-year-old son from constantly opening our side-by-side refrigerator. It was easy to install, and it keeps him out of the refrigerator. Unfortunately after a couple weeks the key, which is strong magnet inside a short plastic handle, dropped to the floor, and the handle broke off of it. I super glued it back together, but a few days later the magnet detached from the handle again. So I will again super glue the pieces back together. It is unfortunate that the key is so flimsy because the lock itself has been quite sturdy and stands up to my 1-year-old son yanking the door open and trying to get in. The magnet itself is pretty strong and I don't think any other normal household magnet would be strong enough to open the lock. So if this magnet is lost, the entire lock assembly have to be pried off of the refrigerator, unless another powerful magnet can be found.
