This product worked great to hardening my blanket for my forge ... one thing I would say is make sure you don't do half and half it will take forever for it to dry I placed my forge in the oven at 280 for about 2 hrs helped alot . Used this on my first forge to rigidize the insulation. It did a good job! Used it as directed - 1:1 with water. Tip: add a drop or two of dye(food coloring) to the mixed solution. Then you can tell if you've totally coated everything.

Used to fabricate a combustion chamber for my old dry based furnace. Mocked up a chamber out of wood, overlapped two layers of ceramic blanket and used this product to stiffen it all up. The bottle only does a 24 by 24 by 1 inch section so you need a lot to treat a big project like mine properly. For my purpose just stiffening it up a little bit to facilitate the transfer to the furnace worked out perfect.
