  • Programming is easy once you watch the YT video
Color: Stainless Steel
I haven't fired my first piece but I did the burn-out procedure. The kiln arrived promptly and was bubble wrapped to protect from nuclear war. The unit is a lot smaller (not a bad thing) than I expected and it is very light, has a handle, and is easy to carry. It comes with a shelf and feet to help with air flow when you're firing. The instructions for the burn-out were lacking...unless you go a little further in the "manual" and learn about the cursor. Best thing to do: watch the YT video and all will be clear. Once I watched the video, I easily set up the burn-out. I was afraid of the kiln so I was super cautious. Unfortunately, I couldn't run it outside - which is HIGHLY recommended - both by me and by Table Top Furnace. The smell. Oh, the smell. I can't even describe it and even with excellent ventilation, stay away due to the smell. They say there may be toxic materials burning off but the smell will keep you away so no concerns there. Maybe. I wore a mask when I had to go near it. Anyway, so far, I really like this kiln. Once you understand the programming, which isn't really that difficult, you're good to go. I can't wait to fire my first piece. I'll update if there is a need. Update: Well, I fired two sets of metal. One silver and one copper. The black is now completely gone and the smell is gone too (thank goodness!!). Programming for both firings was easy after programming the burn-out procedure. There is not a "full ramp" option - just programming how long to reach the initial temperature. I read that it only takes 8-10 minutes to reach 2200. I programmed 15 minutes for the initial temp both runs. The kiln itself is quiet except for the fan which is very quiet as well. I'm glad I bought this kiln. ... show more

  • So far so good.
Color: Stainless Steel
Currently doing my second bisque firing today. Started kiln at 150 degrees for 15 minutes and every 15 minutes I went up another 150 degrees. When the kiln reached 900 degrees, I dropped the time down to every 10 minutes upping 150 degrees until I reach 1780. At that point I held 1780 for 20 minutes and then set the temperature to 0 for a slow cool down. I removed my pieces around 100 degrees and let them cool in the sun since I live in Guam. Nothing shattered the first bisque firing, but I will give an update on how I do the glaze firing and the results. Update: glaze firing in under 3 hours. No pieces have broken and colors come out beautiful! ... show more

  • Works Great but fan controller breaks in shipping
Color: Stainless Steel
This kiln works great. The fan did not work on arrival and took an hour to dissemble, resolder the terribly designed hack of a voltage regulator for the unnecessary fan and re-assemble. Still it works great.

  • Faulty Product? Or Bad Design?
Color: Stainless Steel
I am extremely disappointed with the performance of this kiln. After only 5 firings it already has cracked heat bricks and the coils have been deformed on the top. It doesn’t get as hot as advertised and it struggles to hold the temperature consistent when it’s anywhere within a few hundred degrees of its max temperature. Also the refund policy is a bit sketchy, since it’s impossible to tell if the kiln works without having already done the initial break-in, which voids the return policy. I did extensive research on this product before buying and did not expect the results that occurred, which makes me think that the product that I was given was faulty in some way. The only thing I noticed upon a closer inspection post-cracking/deforming the heating elements was that the door latch didn’t seem to close the kiln entirely. ... show more

  • Works
Color: Stainless Steel
Never would have worked with a propane furnace this one melts fast and efficient works with some double checking of the parts mostly the coil and when my coil broke I was able to easily reconnect and heat up and using a wood block push the coil back into place

  • Excellent!
Color: Stainless Steel
Excellent kiln and service from the manufacturer. I fire ceramics to 05 /04 bisque and glaze schedules. They come out excellent everytime. Follow the youtube for breaking in your kiln and how to program it and you can't go wrong. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a small baby kiln. ... show more
