  • Great Power Supply at a great price!
Style: ATX 3.1 Gold BK RGB Size: 850 Watts (RGB Version)
After having a new MSI ATX3.1 power supply blow and take out have my components I decided to try this Red Dragon power supply and I have to say I am beyond impressed. The build quality is excellent and at first I thought the ARGB fan was just a gimmick, but it comes through on the back of my daughters Lian Li 011D case and looks awesome. Also Red Dragon includes a power supply tester and MSI does not, which would have been nice to have. The cables are not the highest quality I have ever seen, they are good and work just fine though. Overall this power supply compares very well to my Corsair RM1000x. While the Corsair has better cables, both power supplies generally are very close on all other features. Both use Japanese CAPs, both are quiet and considering the Red Dragon power supply was considerably cheaper I would have to lean towards the Red Dragon if I ever need another power supply. Really, you can't go wrong with this power supply. ... show more

  • Read if you have NO experience with PC’s
Style: ATX 3.1 Gold WT RGB Size: 850 Watts (RGB Version)
So let me start by saying I’m a mid 20 something’s male, so I have *some* understanding of technology mostly Xbox and PlayStation with some VR. I’ve never owned a “Gaming PC” before my current one. The only “pc work” I’ve done prior to installing this PSU for a new GPU to be installed was pulling old RAM sticks and adding new ones. I didn’t even build this PC myself (ghost gaming sky tech), it’s a prebuilt so I have no experience in PSU swaps or anything. If you just follow the instructions and actually use common sense and your eyes in the mobo/gpu/etc you will find this SUPER SIMPLE!!! I was SO SCARED I’d ruin something. The install was FLAWLESS and booted right up. I am so happy cause this has allowed me to run a WAY BETTER GPU than what came originally in my PC thanks to this PSU, it’s ran now for 2 months only being power cycled once and it hasn’t hiccuped at all. It worked perfectly with my new RTX5060 TI, and works flawlessly with the ASrock b560M motherboard, it was a phenomenal value and the length of cables were perfect for my midsize case. It even includes special connectors for compatibility with the more weird gpu’s and motherboards. I’d buy it again and it has LED lighting which ties into my whole PC theme! ... show more

  • Excellent value.
Style: ATX Gold WT RGB Size: 650 Watts
I have bought well over a dozen Redragon PSUs ranging from 650W to 1000Ws, I mainly buy alot of 650w and 850w psus. I also tend to buy them used directly from redragon. They are an excellent budget option, I have had a single one be completly dead, which was dissapointing, but For the most part there are no issues and it was easy to return. There is not a coil whine issue with these units, nor is the fan particularly loud or present any issues. The RGB and the effects are pretty good. They can also just be turned off. Some of the effects I have no idea why anyone would use, but they certainly don't hurt. I would really like to see a 5v connecter to take control of the fan in the future, that way it can be synced to the rest of the lights. I feel that would really push this over. I put the white model alot in my builds as it is one of the most affordable white PSUs. Which is often necessary for cases that have gpu shrouds with mesh or cutouts, on white cases. The cables are fine, I have had a broken tab before on cables, but nothing bad. I always use cable extensions with these, so their look isn't super impactful. I'd recommend that to everyone. ... show more

  • Works great. good quality.
Style: SFX Gold WT Size: 650 Watts
Works great. Giving 4 stars because of the following issue: I had this delivered to me for my ITX server, but it will not turn on. I asked for a replacement, and they sent one quickly [ good customer service] , but the new one will also not work. It turns out that the main Motherboard cable was bad. The unit itself works perfectly. I have been using it as a server with 3 VMs on a constant load, and the power unit is very silent and works great. I will recommend this brand. Cables are well labeled for easy matching with your motherboard pins. Note: Do make sure all your pins are securely clicked in. Pins are a very tight fit, which is great for long-term durability. ... show more

  • Nice psu without breaking the bank
Style: SFX Gold WT Size: 650 Watts
I was on the look out for a psu for a build I’m doing, this one is it not overly priced and best of all it’s modular too. The cables seem like good quality though make sure your itx case isn’t to big the mb 24pin is short Other than that I’m satisfied

  • Red Dragon Keyboards/Mice are great, but can't say the same for their power supplies
Style: ATX 3.1 Gold BK RGB Size: 850 Watts (RGB Version)
I have purchased Red Dragon peripherals in the past and never had an issue, but recently purchased their power supply (RGB 850 watts) to replace an evga 650 watt power supply. There was nothing wrong with the evga, but figured I'd upgrade since I have a RTX 3080 in the PC. Red Dragon PSU was a good deal so I grabbed it, but unfortunately, the power supply would not turn on, after installation. I disconnected everything and only connected the motherboard and still nothing. I should had known there would be an issue when the RGB for the PSU would not even turn on. I will be returning this PSU and fall back to my EVGA for now. I still like the Red Dragon keyboards and mice, but don't think I will purchase any other type of hardware from them. I may had received a defective unit, but given the time it takes for wire management and everything, this first impression was a let down.. ... show more
