Description

The Shredder XTE large scale brushless electric truck lives up to its name, shredding anything in its path. The ready to run Shredder XTE includes a 1300Kv brushless motor, 80Amp brushless ESC, powerful steering servo, and 2.4GHz radio system. Two 2S LiPO battery packs are required (batteries sold separately). At 670mm (26.38"") long, the Shredder XTE is a big truck! The newest generation of Shredder vehicles includes large high-grip offroad tires, big bore oil filled shocks, and an incredibly powerful brushless power system. To ensure the Shredder XTE can handle all that power, many of its plastic components have been updated with high impact molded plastic components for lasting durability and performance. Three gear differentials are used, not only to protect the drivetrain, but to add performance characteristics likened to an 1/8 scale buggy. The Shredder XTE is ready to perform on the track or in a vacant lot, so whether you race or bash, the Shredder XTE is a great choice. Its large size allows the Shredder XTE to drive where many 1/10 scale vehicles only dream of going. Even though the Shredder XTE is definitely an impressive performing large scale brushless truck, it's main goal has always been to offer large scale vehicles, at a much lower cost than the market typically allows. While most large scale brushless vehicles on the RC market today are too expensive for the average hobbyist, the Shredder XTE is here to open the door into large scale RC ownership, to those who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it. Experience large scale fun at an affordable price! Get the Redcat Racing Shredder XTE today!

  • Not a toy, but so much FUUUUN
I will write a review for this Redcat Shredder and hope it helps you to determine to buy or not. I have the car now around 6 weeks and it have already a story to tell. I'm not new in the RC car world and i wanted to have a large car since a long time and the redcat is in a price range i was willing to pay for. And yes, this car is huge. The order arrived and i was soooooo excited. I got my batteries already charged and was ready to run. Unfortunately, the run was not even a 1 minute!!!!! No joke, less than a 1 minute. You cannot believe how this felt...i was pis.....!!!!!! I checked the car and the spur gear was damaged. The pinion gear was mounted correctly which means, the spur gear was already defective or the car was already used. I claimed it as defect and returned the car. Amazon was amazing by handling the return and send immediately a replacement. 2 days later i got the new car. At this point i checked the car and all parts. I went over ALL screws and tightend them up. My recommandation, do the same before you run the car...it is needed! And now it was time to get the Shredder out and it was amazing. This car runs through everything and jumps...it's so much fun!!! I was out with the car and bashing across the backyard A LOT. And here is the point where the low price comes into the game. With buying the car, batteries and charger, that's not the end of the investment, you will need parts and time to replace them. It requires a little bit of a technical understanding as well. In general, if you are not able or willing to repair things, don't buy a RC car. :-) So, let's talk about what i already replaced in the last 6 weeks. The tires are sucks. They balloning crazy as soon you pull the trigger and i replaced them with ProLine Badlands 3.8". They are a little bit smaller but runs great. I lost the pinion gear while running the car and was needed to buy a new one. Got it and lost it directly again, but i was lucky and found it. The screw was tight when i installed the gear. What i did, i put a little bit Gorilla glue at the end of the gear shaft and since it came not loose again. Next part, it is kind of funny but not. The advertisment says that the components are waterproof. That is partly correct. The ESC, motor and so on are waterproof BUT the receiver is not. It sits in the housing open to the elements. I thought, great, waterproof, lets run this car through the creek. The fun part here, this bad boy was running trough the creek, fully submerged, driving on the ground of the creek. I was impressed. The next day i was not impressed anymore, because the car was dead. :-( OK, that means a new receiver was needed. In the mean time i put the receiver in a bowl filled with rice. The new receiver arrived and just for fun i tried the "old" receiver and look at this...it was working. However, i waterproofed the non waterproof receiver with a little trick i saw on YouTube. Put the receiver in a water ballon and Zip tie the end, a little bit of silikon in the remaining opening and that's it. Waterproof! Now you can go diving with the Shredder :-) Next part i changed was the servo. Even with the smaller tires, the stock servo is weak. Than recently a Hub carrier broke after a jump and i landed on the wheel. Yeah, that is happen. Other than this...i order a few more parts to be prepared if something brakes and i don't have down times :-) All in all, i love this car. I run it with 2S 5200mAh LiPo and it is fast. It is not a toy, at all. I did a speed test and it is running 36.8 mph with a wheight of 15 pounds. If you hit something, it will brake, no matter if it's a plant pot or a leg!!! The Redcat Shredder is a lot of fun but requires maintenance and repairs, and the price is great for the size of the car. It is a car to start with as an hobby, maybe not. A 1/10 scale car might be better. If you have a lower budget and want to have a big size car, that's your car. I hope this review is helping you to determine if this is the right car for you or not. ... show more

  • Fast, fun, affordable. This RC is those things.
After buying a couple of other Redcat rc's, I couldn't help but buy the shredder when it was on sale for $299. It seems Redcat makes very durable, very quality rc's for the money. I am in no way affiliated with Redcat racing and have paid in full for everything I've bought of theirs. I've owned other brands of RC vehicles. I'm very impressed with the shredder. This thing is BIG! The 1/6th scale shredder dwarfs the blackout pro and the Everest 10 in the photos, both of which are 1/10th scale vehicles. The large size, long wheelbase and large tires help the shredder do things no other RC car I've owned can do. It is awesome. At this price, the size and performance of this truck is probably hard to beat. The shredder is a beast. I have two sets of batteries (it doesn't come with batteries or a charger), two 5200mah and two 8000mah. It runs for maybe 15 minutes on two 5200 and almost 25minutes I'd say on the 8000's. That's heavy driving through grass, dirt, speed runs on pavement and jumping it. It does everything GREAT! It's the most fun I've had with an RC. I've only run it for about 6 charges or so. Maybe two hours of drive time. This thing fly's. Not only is it pretty fast, it jumps better than any RC truck I've had or driven. The only rc's I've driven that fly through the air better are drones, planes and copters, and the shredder honestly seems to fly better than some of those even. Lol. It almost always lands tires down. It soars like a champ, super controllable in the air and it slaps down like a buggy when it lands for excellent control on landings. It soaks em up and doesn't bounce. I can't stress how much fun I've had jumping this thing. It attracts a lot of attention also. It's big and fast and just plain awesome. It goes through the grass REALLY well for an RC truck. It's super long so it doesn't wheelie easily with the stock motor and esc, but timing your throttle input correctly while hitting a bump can bring the wheels skyward. This thing throws grass from the tires and unlike most rc's that can kick up a little dirt, this thing seems to throw walls of rocks and dirt. It roosts. It will easily lift the inside front tire and balloon it to probably Almost twice it's original size... Which isn't necessarily a good thing but it looks neat :) Once you are used to the handling of this truck it is pretty awesome. It is NOT super twitchy like most RC cars and trucks. It has a fairly wide turning radius and it's heavy so I would recommend using caution in tight spaces until you are familiar with it's handling characteristics. That said, it's the best handling RC car or truck I've ever owned or driven. I haven't driven everything but I've driven probably a few dozen different rc's. I have yet to personally crash this truck. I've flipped it, but haven't hit anything really. But my friend did. I let a friend of mine drive the shredder right after I bought it. We were doing speed runs down his very not busy street. I bet we were hitting 40 mph. It cooks right along. Fast. My friend had the bright idea of trying to take a 90° corner on pavement at full speed, about 40 I'd say. He took the corner wide, went into the lawn and hit a large clay plant pot full of dirt. At full speed. I think he hit the brakes at the moment he hit the plant pot. The truck stopped instantly where the plant pot was. WAS. It vaporized the plant pot that probably weighed 20 lbs full of dirt. Completely exploded the thing. It was like a shower of destruction. I knew he just ruined my brand new truck. I saw the bumper had broken off and inspected the truck. That's all that happened. Just the bumper mounts broke. The bumper itself is actually still fine. The rest of the truck was 100% fine. I was shocked. It's a heavy truck and the plant pot wasn't light either. It was the most insane rc crash I've seen. Other than that, I lost a wheel nut after bashing the truck on a hiking trail and in the woods, then drifting through a large dirt parking lot for a while. My fault. Should have checked them before the drive. Also one screw came out of the bottom of my chassis. My fault again. Noticed that and went over most of the bolts on the truck and tightened them. Really I can't complain about this thing at all. Yet. All in all this thing is pretty amazing for the price. I would highly recommend it. ... show more

  • I don't know I'm still new to the hobby
Update 3/30 they're going to be replacing the parts that have some issues on the car ,customer service is on point anytime I've asked a question about a part or set up on the car they've always answered me in a timely manner about the parts that have been damaged on my car they've requested some pictures I've sent them pictures and they've replaced the parts in question makes me feel a lot better in the brand I will update again as soon as I get the new parts and run at least two sets of batteries through and see how it holds up Update 3/27 spur gear stripped out order to replacement find out the whole housing is just melted awesome what a great hobby....... I think if I could go back and do things differently I would have bought a different car possibly a different brand Car has been somewhat troublesome since I've received it fun though but a pain Shocks came not filled I emailed them they said that was weird and recommended that I used 50 weight shock oil... Purchase that rebuild the shocks on some documentations I found on the internet, the front is okay but the back end of the car is sagging pretty bad, swap the front with the back still sagging, the back of the car bottoms out under any type of throttle , still figuring out what to do for the shock issue One of my tires has already ripped, do not believe I was that hard on the car already but maybe I am the I am still new to this hobby after talking to a couple of the people I believe that the tires have been just worn down doing to normal use and I've been driving it quite a bit Playing with the car in a little bit of rain couple puddles having a blast with me and my son car stops responding and the receiver no longer lights up I reached out to them about the issue and there sending me a replacement receiver awesome customer service I did have to buy two batteries for this car which I knew about previously and then shock oil , and now probably a new receiver maybe that's just part of the hobby ... show more

  • Very good and durable truck for the money!
I have my shredder for a few weeks now and I have had no issues it so far . Did some research before buying the truck and made a few minor upgrades once I got it. I installed a piece of half inch pipe going across the length of the truck to keep the body from flexing when I do jumps. This way it doesn’t strip the spur gear or at least not right away . It also adds some extra durability. By the way , I am still using the same plastic Spur gear that the truck came with. I bought the steel spur gear from redcat but see no need to change it as of yet. I was not too happy with the stock shocks so I ordered and installed Traxxas Maxx big bore shocks. They fit and work much better than the stock shocks. I also installled the Amazon special upgraded steering servo and it also works better than the stock servo the truck comes with. Made these minor changes after watching a few videos on YouTube from Radioactive RC Ranch and my truck and been just fine. Great truck overall. ... show more

  • This is a brilliant truck for the money!
Like: very durable and thick parts for being OEM stock. Easy to work on. Runs and jumps nicely due to low center of gravity and very long wheelbase. Thick 6160 aluminum base plate with counter sunk screw holes (so they don't get mashed or stripped while running) Compared to my brothers Arrma 1/10 big rock this hardly tumbles at all and miraculously every time it did it always landed on its feet again like a cat. No need to go 3s due to having 2 battery slots so for about $35 in cheap 2s batteries this thing absolutely flies. DONT LIKE: Parts are hard to find. The center diff has a plastic spur gear and is guaranteed to shred itself if the gear mesh is off even by a nanometer. The drivetrain makes some unnerving noises out of the box. Have had to reprogram the esc a couple times. SUMMARY: This is R2R but to me that means ready to rebuild. When you get this truggy take your time and make sure everything is locktighted with blue locktight. Go through and lightly lube all the driveshaft ends and touch points, sour gear etc - snug the wheels --- all the stuff you SHOULD do between romps. Don't send it! The guys and gals on these videos that jump them 50 feet in the air must have money to burn. The manual even says don't jump this. Granted I do, but I do so lightly. This thing will trample over shrubs, does well in the cold and snow and handles well for it's purposes but I also understand that parts break therefore I stick with 2s and have a load of fun. I wish I would've bought this instead of my Traxxas Slash years ago. It's extremely well built but parts are hard to come by - possibly because of Covid or maybe it's that Redcat dropped the ball on supply chain?? In closing I have had nothing but fun with this keeping up with much more expensive modded rigs. Entry level? Is any R2R truly entry level?? If you want something you never want to work on or replace parts by a cheap Newbrite toy that goes 2mph. This is not a toy it's a hobby. This could wreck itself at 35mph in the wrong hands., But could yield years of enjoyment in the right hands. Happy romping & thanks for checking this review out! ... show more

  • Excellent Racer Than a Basher
Opinion: I was looking for my 1st large RC car. I ended up at every model I could find. I was comparing everything to the Shredder. It took months to make the choice. My budget was under $400. $359 delivered was what I paid. The price was very attractive. I could not get the 4s model with the options i wanted from any other manufacturer at that price. Specs: The Shredder comes with an 4s 80 amp ESC not a 120 amp(mislabeled on the Redcat website). The motor is a 1300kv. You will need 2 LIPOS with 35-50c discharge rate. Total battery amperage cannot exceed 12 amps( 2 6000ma lipos max). The input voltage is limited to 11.2-14.4 Volts(the voltage range of 2s LIPOs). Parts are inexpensive and easy to get except for a very few. There are plenty of upgrades if you want to make a show car. The Shredder has a very simple design and VERY easy to work on. Performance: Break in the car(spur gear) and new batteries by driving it half speed for 4 hours at no more than half throttle. Expect 20-35 minute runtime with 5200ma LIPOs. The ESC gets a little warm to the touch @ 80F+ ambient temp. The motor has an efficient heat sink to keep it cool. The batteries do not get hot ever. The car has plenty of air flow over the electrical parts. Let the car sit for 10 minutes before starting a second run. Running the Shredder @40F ambient temp will give you up to 20% more speed(50MPH?). Running when it is 32F or below will make the plastic structures brittle and EASY to break. Cons: The plastic spur gear seems flimsy and NOISY! You cannot run it on 1 3s battery. The manual says not to jump the Shredder. The steering servo can get bogged down at top speed. The battery straps by the ESC prohibit the proper flow of air through the ESC air intake slots. The rear shocks need to be tightened to stop the rear from bottoming out. Rear shocks were not completely filled and they need a heavier oil. There is no rear bumper over the exposed rear linkages. Update: On the 1st snow run it lasted 3 minutes. The ESC is supposed to be waterproof. No power is going to the motor and it will not run. Swapped controller batteries and LIPO. The servo sometimes moves, but there is no connection to the controller. Amazon Chat is useless. Got an email to Redcat support. 2.8 months it lasted without an incident. After 8 hours of drying, the car works again. Only the ESC is somewhat waterproof. The motor and the receiver are not waterproofed. ... show more

  • HALF A** !! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR .
OK SO I HAVE BEEN GETTING BACK INTO THIS HOBBY OVER THE PAST YEAR . I USED TO BE AN AVID R/C HOBBYIST ABOUT 10 YRS AGO , AND I AM REALLY IMPRESSED WITH WHAT'S OUT THERE NOW . SO WHEN I SAW A NICE LOOKING 1/6 SCALE TRUCK FROM A SEEMINGLY REPUTABLE COMPANY FOR UNDER $400 .. I WAS EXCITED . I DEBATED SPENDING MY MONEY ON THIS TRUCK VS AN ARRMA PRODUCT ( WHICH NEVER DISAPPOINTS ) AND I FIGURED .. LET’S TRY SOMETHING NEW. WHAT I GOT IS AN ARTIFICIALLY ENLARGED COPY OF A CHEAP $30 KIDS TOYS !!! . EVRYTHING IN THIS TRUCK IS SOMETHING THAT RESEMBLES A HOBBY GRADE FEATURE/PART BUT IN REALITY IS A FLIMSY COPY THAT SIMPLY DOESN'T CUT IT!! IF YOU'RE GONNA MAKE A 1/6 SCALE TRUCK YOU CAN'T PUT IN CHEAP, WEAK PLASTIC COMPONENTS,... WELL I GUESS YOU CAN .... AND IT WILL LOOK REAL NICE , BUT THEN CRACK OR BREAK AS SOON AS IT " TAPS " A CURB .. YES , BROKE A FRONT STEERING ROD ON THE VERY FIRST DRIVE WHEN I LITERALLY JUST BUMPED INTO A CURB. OK , I FIGURED ... WELL YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR , A 1/6 SCALE TRUCK FOR $350 .. IT’S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD IF I HAVE TO REPLACE A PART SO ILL JUST FIX IT .. SO I SPEND A LITTLE MONEY AND TIME AND I FIX IT ,, OOOOOHHHH EXCITED FOR MY SECOND DRIVE... BOOOOMMM WHOLE SERVO BLOWS ,,, UGHHHHHH , OK OK GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE ... I REPLACE THE SERVO ,,,, YAAYYYYY HERE WE GO THIRD DRIVE ... LET'S FINALLY HAVE SOME FUN ....... WHAAAAAMMMM ESC BLOWS !!!!!!!! AND THAT'S ALL FOLKS !!!!!!!!!!!! ON THE SHELF NEXT TO THE BROKEN TERROMOTO FROM LAST MONTH ... BACK TO ARRMA !!!!!! THE ONLY THING THESE RED KITTEN GUYS GOT SOMEWHAT RIGHT IS THE TR-MT10E AND 8 E . BUT I GUESS IT'S JUST .. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IN THIS WORLD . THERE IS A PLACE IN THE MARKET FOR A MIDDLE RANGE ( QUALITY WISE) PRODUCT FOR BEGINNERS TO GET THEM INTO THE HOBBY . BUT FOR MY MONEY ... PUT IN A FEW MORE DOLLARS AND GET THE RIGHT THING ( WHSPERRR KRATONNNN) ADDENDUM... I SEE ALL THESE OTHER POSITIVE REVIEWS BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND..... OVER THE PAST YEAR I’VE BOUGHT 11 TRUCKS INCLUDING TWO RED CAT PRODUCTS BESIDE THIS SHREDDER, ( I bought a TR-MT10E and the 1/8 scale TERRAMOTO BEFORE THIS SHREDDER) THE REST WERE ARRMA AND ONE TRAXXAS . AND WHAT BOTHERED ME MOST WAS THAT I ACTUALLY EMAILED RED CAT THINKING MAYBE I GOT A BAD UNIT BUT THEIR RESPONSE WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL, AND I AM VERY BUSY, TOO BUSY TO GO BACK AND FORTH WITH EMAILS TO GET THROUGH TO SOMEONE AT THE COMPANY THAT ACTUALLY “WANTS “ TO HELP . I JUST WANT TO BUY MY “ TOY “ AND PLAY WITH IT DURING THE VERY LITTLE FREE LEISURE TIME I HAVE AND NOT DEAL WITH HASSLES. AND I DONT MIND SPENDING EXTRA $$ FOR THIS. SO I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR, IF YOU’RE LIKE ME ARRMA WON’T DISAPPOINT. BUT IF YOU WANT SOMETHING A BIT MORE PRICE FRIENDLY AND DON’T MIND POSSIBLY HAVING TO JUMP THROUGH SOME HOOPS WITH REPLACING PARTS OR NEGOTIATIONS WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS.. THEN THESE RED CAT PRODUCTS HAVE THEIR PLACE . BUT TRY TO AVOID THIS SHREDDER THING . GET THE TR-MT10E . !! ... show more

  • Must do first,!
Hello, just a heads up to future buyers, I’ve been running RC’s cars and trucks for 20 years nitro, gas and electric. Redcat is no different than the bigger brands out there. Do not run the shredder before checking all 3 diffs. My front and center sounded like I was grinding pebbles right out of the box. You need to purchase these shims BS903-091 to shim the diffs and fill with white lithium grease from auto parts store. Found my shims on eBay, $4.00 for like a pack of 10, I only needed 3 so far. Check tires on the rims, I had one that needed to be glued on the back side. BLUE Loctite metal to metal screws, all 4 17mm wheel nuts need a drop of loctite. When finished verifying/shimming diffs reset the motor pinion to spur mesh and loctite 4 screws securing the motor mount underneath. There is YouTube videos describing how to shim the diffs. I understand the excitement of a new truck and wanting to start bashing immediately, but with most RTR Rc I’ve owned they all need to been gone over and checked. Although it seems to be a pain to tear down a new rig it will save you a lot of frustration in the field and dealing with customer service. Take pride in your rig and do it while it’s clean. So with that have fun Bash, Jump, Break, Repair, Repeat! ... show more

  • Big, Fast, fun, and affordable, a few kinks
This is a BIG RC truck. Like its gotta be 2 feet long or maybe more. The wheels are huge too. And on the dual 2s packs it tears around pretty fast. The included remote is nothing special perhaps, but its reliable and more than adequate. The chassis is simple, and easy to work on. Some of the suspension components use plastic where I might have liked to see metal, but none of them have broken yet, so maybe its not an issue. Nonetheless, i got a few spare upper a arms, and it wouldn't surprise me if I end up needing one at some point. Only real complaint I have is the tires, and the wheel nuts. The tires, well, they are real cheap, and kind of junk. They compound is sorta hard, they don't have a ton of grip, and just kind of let the rest of the truck down. When I have a little spare cash, ill try to find something better that fits. The wheel nuts just seem to work their way loose every time I run it. Not sure if that's vibration, or just the wrong thread direction on axles, but check them before and after each run or you are likely to loose a wheel at high speed, which is hilarious in its own way, but not ideal. It jumps well, and lands well, and holds up pretty well to a good thrashing, which is pretty much what a vehicle like this is for. For the price, you wont find another truck this size worth a darn, so this is the way to go. A few upgrades I think and I'll have something really amazing here. ... show more

  • Awesome machine!!
Ok I had this for a solid two months now and I would like to share my experience with you. When you receive you redcat shredder expect to receive a monster sized box! When you open the box depending on how long and how amazon is storing these the shocks will leak oil and trust me not easy to fill them because the shocks don’t have bleeder holes. So you will get the job half fast done You will need to buy 2 - 2s batteries plus a good charger I recommend that you buy good quality and for the batteries 2s 100c 8000mah. You will enjoy 50m of run time at full speed!! Wich is around 40-50mph! Do not want to cheap out or you will regret it as cheap batteries and charges may damage or cause fires. You will also need to buy a fireproof bag for you batteries. Before your first run you must make sure that all nuts and bolts are tight specially the wheels as he most likely will come from factory lose. I strongly recommend the aftermarket front and rear bumper from tbone racing as it saved my rc from destruction multiple times. Without it the rc would have been broken already. On your first time go slow because this thing is really fast! If you hit someone make no mistake that you will break their leg. Lastly buy a Redcat Racing MPO-019 Steel Spur Gear, 49T. The one that comes from factory is plastic and will get tear to pieces after a few runs. If you follow my advice you will now have a hobby grade basher that will get you adrenaline pumping every time you take it for a spin lol Redcat customer service is 5 stars they will troubleshoot you and if they can’t they will replace any part within the 90 days. All and all I spend about $700 total. So expect to be around 600-700 that to get it running Have fun! ... show more

  • GREAT TRUCK
This is message is for anyone that gave this truck a bad review, don't compare this truck to Traxxas when Traxxas trucks are sometimes to three times the price the thing is you buy this truck knowing that it's a little cheaper and you actually have the ability to repair certain things that happened if you want a truck that is never going to have problems and you don't actually have to work on them then spend $900 on a truck and well you're going to have problems with that one too but not as many but you're also $359 on the Redcat and I have yet to find a problem with it it runs well it's fast it's handling is outstanding and I have had both Redcat sand Traxxas and JLB's and all of them had their little problems but what do you expect no matter what you want to call them they are toys and they break it's like buying a used Ugo and complaining if you have to change the alternator. So trust me to all the novice and even experts out there this is a very good truck and you can't expect anything more out of it. To The Experts out there we all know we have little problems with all our RCS no matter what brand, it's all about the ability and knowledge to be able to fix the little problems instead of whining about them. So if anybody is planning on purchasing one of these I would definitely recommended. Tough fast and better then any other RTR's at this size on the market at this time. Anybody can find a better one at this price, let me know. If not then I don't want to hear complaints about tire wear or whatever the other lame excuses word for getting it such a bad review other than being probably a Traxxas employee. ... show more

  • AWESOME SMILES
OK a little background to help you understand, I've been in the RC hobby for over 40 years, Have been racing for over 35 years, 1/10 and 1/8 scale. Have been at every level, from Radio Shack go to professional, Team Associated, Kyosho, Losi, Traxxas, RGT and Tamiya products and more. Decided to give the 1/6 scale Redcat Shredder a try seeing the low cost for a 1/6 scale. I have only run one set of 2S batteries through it, and am totally impressed with it. With just 2s It balloons the tires up and is fast. I have not had a vehicle put a smile on my face stock out of the Box in a very long time and this one definitely accomplish that. I have my own 8th scale 10' w lanes track on my property and it's a little too big for that track but , Taking this out on the open property is awesome, it is capable of jumping dump truck load piles of dirt in a single leap lol Redcat surely has stepped up their game. For the price of this, you will not beat it in any large scale product.... The only fault that I have found with it is the body was hitting the front bumper and required washer's to be placed in there to space to front bumper forward a little.. I don't see many after market products for it if there are any at all, But I do believe as time goes on and people find out how much of a sweet deal this giant truggy is, that will change. Definitely my new favorite bashing vehicle. It is big and you will need room to play. It is a great buy. ... show more

  • Your going to break it, and love doing it
Not an entry or beginners r/c, something that weighing this much going that fast it's not a durable unit, your going to brake it. You are not bashing until till you trash a few parts. Upper front control arm is what broke in under 40 minutes of having a ball with it, hitting 20 foot jumps, hopping it straight up into a back flip at full speed was spectacular. But what this Shedding monster will do to place a smile on your face, as your tearing it up. REDCAT RACING did it good job on creating this monster. Redcat racing will provide the parts that you break rather quickly. I am very impressed with the functionality of the Shedder, plenty of speed, and really able to take the punishment of hard bashing. Added lights to roof line Update, replaced steering servo, went to local Hobbie shop, bought upgraded servo. The one from factory was good, but the replaced one is way better. Broke steering servo saver, again Redcat Racing was able to send replacement parts, ordered new tie rods. As I said earlier, this no toy, you'll push the Shedder, it will respond, play hard, you'll replace parts. Does not matter who makes the r/c, they will break, and you'll will smile while doing it. ... show more

  • Big truck, small price tag.
This is a great beginner truck for someone who wants a big rc without a big price tag. I'm pretty now to the hobby, before my recent notorious v5 purchase this was my most expensive rc. I'm still learning a lot about the hobby but I can say I took this thing to the track and the skate park and sent it full blast the only damage I've done to it was a stripped spur gear, no big deal I put the metal one in, and I broke a servo when my friend hit a jump bad and cartwheeled (stock one seems underpowered but they're so cheap!) Also, I accidentally suberged it once so my receiver is a little wonky now but that's like a twenty dollar fix. One down side is my motor will not mount straight. I even took it into my local hobby shop to confirm I'm not stupid, they said the same thing it cant be straightened out without replacing motor mount or chassis they seemed really pissed that redcat shipped it that way but whatever it's minor to me. With metal gears it's holding up well, the mesh just sounds a bit off. Even with that problem I have no issue recommending this truck for it's size, power and price. ... show more
