  • Preferred over losi lmt
The media could not be loaded. This truck is absolutely amazing for the price and with a few upgrades it's a full blown beast of a monster truck. I like it better than the losi lmt as far as total performance goes. The axial smt10 may be better for nearly the same price but I don't own one so I can't say. I beat the heck out of this thing and it always takes the abuse. However if you run it like Tom Meents at the monster jam world finals, you will break things on it. Repairs are easy and parts are plentiful for this truck and you can get very creative with a build on this thing. I have a full scale monster jam arena, backflip ramp and all, and this thing destroys it. Keep in mind mine is not stock but when it was I was still in love with it. And yes mine does backflips... Consecutive backflips at that. The receiver and remote function well enough to hold the truck vertical for stoppies and moonwalks. If your a scale monster truck type or just looking for something awesome this is it. It may not look as scale as the losi or axial but you can't go wrong with what you get from it as far as performance. Shout out to Redcat for these. And I'm buying another very soon. ... show more

  • Redcat Strikes Gold!
Being older, I've gotten back into the RC game. I also was a Monster Jam fan. This truck's engineering is unbelievable, exactly like the real truck. So nice, I bought two. It's fast, it's heavy, and if you want to make a Jam course and play, your face will hurt because you won't stop smiling. The 540 can engine gives it plenty of power. Being heavy, it's somewhat fragile if you're going wide open and clip one of the tires. Like duh? I recommend keeping spare axles and shock mounts (cheap) handy and they're easy to rebuild. That seems to be about the only damage it's prone to. Also, grabbing a 5000 battery is always a good idea. I've not had spur issues on either truck, but I do grease them between uses with a mini hobby grease gun; they were perfectly aligned from the factory. As far as all these negative reviews go? If the gears bound enough to blow them in the first run and you didn't notice when you pushed it? YOU DESERVE WHAT YOU GET! All you had to do was adjust it, not complain about it and take it back? Really? Hey folks, these are called hobby grade for a reason and they're a lot of fun to work on. I would suspect the negative reviewers should be looked at before the truck. It's very, very well engineered. I have 16 hobby grade RC's all the way up to the Rampage MT/Pro. I am the most impressed with the Pounder's. RedCat, you should be very proud of these trucks. The level of detail is fantastic and they take a pretty good beating on top of it. The bad: It's not really that bad, but Redcat should have thrown in the upgraded main drive shafts. I had one out of the eight (two trucks)fittings go. I replaced all the shafts with the upgraded ones and have no more trouble. One of these I fully customized with all blue anodized parts, including the frame, upped the horsepower by going brushless/ LIPO and found probably the last Cult body available. REALLY NICE FOLKS! She's just beautiful AND FAST! Considering the price today, Not bad at all. Great Job RedCat! ... show more

  • Slow, but fun
Value for money spent is outstanding. Reminds me of the old clod buster, minus breaking parts on every run. Radio system is really nice, allows fine tuning of the steering with ease. It’s slow, but still a blast. The metal frame is really sturdy, but very sharp. Who ever is machining (laser cutting) the parts should be ashamed. (Kinda picky, I have owned a shop for 23 years) Shocks are very stiff, will change springs to react quicker. ... show more

  • Fun RC with good support.
I love the metal chassis, 4 wheel steer, and 4 wheel drive. The oil filled shocks are also a bonus. This truck is not for a speed freak, but is fun to pound away with in the backyard. I did have an issue with the transmitter. Redcat sent a replacement transmitter and receiver within two days of my informing them of the issue. Run time is around 15 minutes which is ideal for me. The transmitter works well but is a little confusing to set-up. I understand there are a number of aftermarket items from Crawford Performance Engineering which I may lookup in the future. ... show more

  • Complete waste of money!
I thought i was goin to save a little money and buy this cool looking monster truck with the 4wheel steering from redcat for my son and figured it would be just as good as the bigger name brands. Boy did i make a huge mistake. Its been one break down after another. A steering servo went out in no time and ive went through three redcat motors that seem to be junk. Last time we tried to use it the reverse wasnt working.. i actually just started laughing at what a completely disappointing piece of s*** I had bought. It's going to be less frustrating for me just to throw it away then to replace Parts literally every single time we want to use it. I figure after a little while I'll just go ahead and buy a Traxxas which I should have done the first time and take it from me you should too!! ... show more
