Description

The Redcat Racing Everest Gen7 Sport, 1/10 Scale RTR Scale Rock Crawler has shocked the RC market. Out of the box, the Gen7 Sport comes standard with features, you’d expect to be optional, for an amazing value. It all starts with a powder coated 3mm ladder frame chassis, designed and tuned by BPC Custom Chassis and Two Guys Trail Gear. The addition of the low slung forward mounted battery tray and steel electronics bridge create a highly tunable platform that performs alongside customized crawlers costing twice as much. The realistic 4 door SUV body is similar to what you would find on many modern full sized crawlers. A high quality die cut decal sheet is also include with black, white, red and wood grain panel options so you can customize the Gen7 as your own, straight from the box. Shackle mount bumpers add even more realism and are ready to accept LED lights and mounts. True to scale, licensed Interco Super Swamper Tires and functional beadlock wheels pull the Gen7 through the toughest of terrains. Each wheel uses inner and outer beadlock rings, which are made of 2mm steel, for maximum strength and tire holding power. Solid axle carrier lockout spools ensure both the left and right tires put down the power, for the most traction possible. The Gen7 Sport includes a waterproof Hobbywing brushed crawler ESC, 550 brushed electric motor, Waterproof high torque metal gear Hexfly steering servo, 2000mAh NiMH battery pack, NiMH charger, and a 2.4GHz radio system. The Gen7 Sport is a fully customizable scale crawler, with many performance parts and accessories available. Get your very own Gen7 Sport today!

  • This is a great deal on a relatively capable RC crawler
This is a great deal on a relatively capable RC crawler. The one I received had a manufacturers defect. The axle c holder was broke. That said Amazon was helpful and responsive. I did work with Redcat Racing on some of the issues caused because of the defect and I can not stress enough how pleasant and helpful the support team at Redcat is. I highly recommend any Redcat vehicle due to the US-based support staff and their willingness to help solve any problems. As far as the capabilities of the Redcat Everest Gen 7 Sport, I highly doubt that you can find an RTR crawler that out of the box is any more capable no matter how much you are willing to spend. ... show more

  • It's not a piece of crap like these carpet drivers are saying LOL
I've seen a lot of complaints about this vehicle and breaking parts. they say I was only driving it around on carpet and it just broke in 5 minutes. Bull crap! Obviously you have no control over your trigger finger or you just don't know how to drive LOL. But I love this truck I was even able to put six and a half inch tires on it with 2.8 rims. Just a couple mods. Didn't even have to cut the body at all. Very happy about that. But this thing is unstoppable. Way to go red cat! ... show more

  • Better than anything at this price point!
This truck is better than any other comparable hobby grade crawler at this price point, period! No, it's not as durable out of the box as an SCX10 or TRX4. What it does offer is a solid platform that is ready to run right out of the box for $200. A platform that has spare part and upgrade support, unlike so many other $200 1/10 scale crawlers. I prefer the sport model over the pro because I don't want the side flares or the roof rack. The pro comes with aluminum lockers, the only up grade to the driveline. Neither sport or pro offer metal trans gears, so for under $50 I'll add the metal trans gears and Aluminum lockers myself. Need to tear it down to make sure everything is greased anyway. Aside from the cosmetics the sport comes with plastic shock bodies vs the pro aluminums. The sport includes a 2000Mah battery vs the 3000Mah offered with the pro, they take up the same space in my trash can. My 5200Mah 2S lipos weigh less than the stock battery and fit perfectly, and are still going after 2+ hours. My first Gen7 was purchased 2 years ago and has been badly abused and upgraded with aluminum lockers, metal trans gears, and cv axles in the front. I recently added the high steer knuckle kit. The Gen7 I bought a couple weeks ago came with cv fronts and the plastic high steer knuckles from the factory. The one delivered yesterday also came that way, so really only need the lockers and trans gears to make these solid trail trucks. Tire foams are not great and break down in short order, the tires are very decent though. The front bumper is a bad design and made to match the PRO width with the molded flares. Tires will rub if you try to get a decent approach angle. I cut mine down and chopped the posts at the 3rd hole to push it all the way in. If you do not chop the posts the servo hits them. The rear drive shaft needs the male end shortened 1/4" because it bottoms out and pushes the trans forward. Metal shielded bearing not the best for wet running, but at least it came with bearings and not bushings. Wheelbase and frame length allow MANY bodies to fit this chassis. For a RTR this truck is a solid value at $200. The PRO is about $50 more, not really worth it since the Gen8 is $300 and gives you portals and neither have metal trans gears from the factory. The Gen8 offers a better weight bias as well as aluminum shocks. I would recommend the Gen7 sport all day to anyone looking to get into the hobby for not a lot of money. ... show more

  • great beginners trail truck
This was my first hobby grade truck . There is a wide choice of replacement and up grade parts .It can take some abuse while learning . A solid truck for that price range .

  • this truck I think is one of the best you can buy for the money
To all those people out there that are interested in the red cat generation seven radio control truck, this truck I think is one of the best you can buy for the money. I'm new at this hobby but I paid particular attention whenever you go to the YouTube videos and watch what the people that have this truck can actually do against the other trucks which are much more expensive and have all the latest gizmos. I've added headlights taillights and the six-inch light bar which works really awesome "pay attention and try to get the light bar that has the little tiny lightbulbs to rows, so far that things indestructible I've rolled this truck down the side of the steepest hills and it's only now starting to crack the Lexan body in one of the mold areas by the door. Articulation is good I'm sure it could be improved but it's absolutely amazing where this thing will go depending on who's driving it. The only thing I would recommend is getting different tires which are much softer and applied more grip this makes a world of difference. Generally the only thing that will stop this thing from climbing is either the dirt is to loosen you dig a hole or your traction is to good annual flip over backwards! I also did one other item because it does have quite a bit of speed to it and it makes it more difficult to climb rough terrain because it bounces around too much it's too sensitive. Replace your pinion gear with a 13 tooth, it still has fairly good speed to get out a hill without losing control but allows you the sensitivity and the controller to rock crawl. ... show more

  • Weak plastic pieces
The very first time I took this truck to drive it on a small course, both axel plastic pieces broke. Didn’t even drive it for 10 mins. But I guess that’s how they get you to spend more money why on upgrades . Invest your money in quality RC cars. Spend that extra 200 bucks.

  • nice looking machine but fragile and came broken
This car would be good for the price and a good beginner RC. The packaging/bubble wrap was impressive but had a broken center link, we ordered a replacement (which was a 2pack but one of them was also messed up!) and finally were able to drive the truck and then the gears in the gear box didn't last a full battery life before they stripped out. We were able to find metal gears to replace the plastic stock gears. but not a metal gear housing. ... show more
