My husband previous pair lasted over 3 years. He’s an auto mechanic and extremely hard on boots (and clothes). The boots are oil resistance, water resistant, shock resistant. The daily lower back pain he was experiencing is relieved. They are perfect in N summer and keep him warm in winter even though they aren’t insulated. Other expensive boots he’d wear out the soles in a month. Value for the money is worth it. He’s spent twice as much on boots that lasted only a few months. Customer service was spectacular. I was confused about the sizing. My husband’s old boots had a size 13 tag. So I ordered a size 13. He is a size 14/15 in US sizes. The boots I received has a size 12 tag. Customer service went above and beyond to remedy the problem. Make sure you order your actual size. A booth with a size smaller will arrive. That’s the difference between US and UK sizing. Let me first say that I think these boots are going to be really great. I just got them yesterday, so I will update in a few months after I’ve had a chance to break them in and wear them. The sizing is incredibly confusing. I’ve also discovered that these boots run large. I wear a women’s size 11 to 11 1/2. Originally, I ordered a pair of Redbacks that have a size 9 on the cloth tag at the ankle. According to the size chart, this would have been a US 11 womens, or a 10 mens. I tried them on though, and they were huge. I decided to return them and bought an 8.5 Australian. I took out the insert and put in a pair of Dr. Scholls gel inserts to make them more comfortable. I’ve been wearing them around the house and they are comfortable, but I can tell they definitely need to be broken in. I am wearing them with a thin wool sock. I don’t plan to wear these for work in the winter and snow unless I can get a heated insert in. My plan for these is to keep them as more of a fall/summer/spring work boot. ... show more

My first pair lasted me 5 years in the automotive industry. I went against better judgment last year and bought a knock off version of these boots and was kicking myself for not buying these again. Just purchased these and I’m already loving them. The are highly slip resistant with oil or water on floors, the comfort and arch support is perfect, and I can walk around my usual 10,000 plus steps a day in them with no problems at all. I had these same boots, but with a steel toe. I unfortunately left them in a ice fishing cabin this past winter, and can't live without them. These are very comfortable and require little if any break in. You can wear them for hard work or for casual dress. I would just throw some polish on them if I was wearing them out. You can almost live in these, they are so versatile. The soles have a clear almost silicone type look and feel. They don't mark anything, and grip on everything. I didn't really need the ST on my first pair, but thought it was nice to have. The issue with the ST was that the lining material came off inside the shoe where the edge of the steel toe starts. Every time I put the shoes on, my pinky toe caught the lip and I felt like I tore off the nail! If you don't need ST, get these soft toe. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

Great pair of boots. I am a master technician for KIA. I use these in the field every single day. This is my second pair. The first pair I had lasted 5-6 years before the sole separated from the upper part of the boat. I would highly recommend redbacks and I stand behind them. As for size, I would recommend going a half size smaller then your true size. They will feel a little tight for a few days but the leather stretches perfectly to be comfortable. ... show more

I have shopped for over a year for boots like these!!! I work in EMS and I am on my feet all the time, in and out of dangerous and or hazardous environment. However, when we return to the station, I don’t necessarily want to bring that back into my bunk room. Having the ability to slip my foot in and out of these boots between calls will be a Godsend! I love that they are still a little snug at my ankle so creepy critters don’t get in if we are on a scene with them. YUK! In my quest for these boots, I did my homework on sizing when ordering. It is important to know if the company you are ordering from is ordering based on US sizing. I am a woman and ordered in a US Men’s Size 8 for my boot. I generally wear a US Woman’s size 10. The boots fit perfectly. They were a little stiff when I first put them on but I have worn them while working around the house all day and hav no complaints. They have a nice wide toe box, for those of us who hate for our toes to be crammed together at the end of the boot! Wore them outside to water my plants and they got water on them, it beaded right up, as it should. Got dust on them from kicking some dirt and it came right off. The boots are neither too heavy or so light you don’t know they are there. I often can be a bit clumsy and yet not one unplanned stunt was performed while I walked out to get the mail or did other chores! In fact, these babies look so great, I’m gonna have to order another pair for home use and date nights this fall.
